4. And all this says is that she made remarks at a briefing. No indication of what those remarks were.

14. Keep Denying it. You're not iniveted to these meetings if you oppose the issue.
And she gave opening statements.

32. Sounds like they were strong remarks in favor of NAFTA

Time to stop denying it. The persons responsible need to answer to
the people.

She had a meeting with a hundred folks - perhaps asking for changes to fair trade

11. We don't know that. And that really is the point. All the schedule provided was that she spoke.
While it seems some Obama "supporters" rather play make believe, we should not do the same.

2. Actual politico headline is : From the schedules: Working on Nafta

Why because all they have is that she scheduled 15 minutes for brief remarks at a NAFTA briefing.

We do not have a copy of her statements so Obama people claiming this is some kind of smoking gun that Hillary supported NAFTA is a lie. Just like the bullshit boon remark.

9. NO ONE IS LYING
How am I lying?!??! I am paraphrasing this :

"She was also involved in helping her husband win congressional approval of the North American Free Trade Agreement, a deal she now criticizes and says she would try to change."

If anyone is LYING, it would be them, not ME.

20. I apologize. Saying you were lying was harsh.
Sorry I am fresh off the same argument where the other poster repeetly stated that this showed Hillary supported NAFTA when it shows not much of anything.

My point is all we have is that she was scheduled to make brief remarks to close a NAFTA briefing. We have no idea what those remarks were. We don't know what those remarks were and neither does the AP which seems to want to play gotcha more than use actual facts.

So what is your point. Just as he does on Iraq, from the lips of Mrs. Powers.

24. the Obama lie that is admited by Obama was his saying there was no meeting - the lie
Edited on Wed Mar-19-08 03:33 PM by papau
he has not admitted is the telling the US voter that he was willing to end NAFTA if it was not changed to a "fair trade" treaty - while at the same telling Canada that there was no threat to end NAFTA if Canada did not agree to "fair trade".

Obama claims the write up of the meeting by Canada completely mis-states his position - and that he will end NAFTA if no change.

27. I think you are misinterpreting the schedule there...
It says she had opening and closing remarks, both of which I'm sure were something to the effect of "You know this NAFTA thing is a really bad idea, so let's not meet again, OK?".

:sarcasm: (for those who are challenged in this area).

33. With Alexis Herman
who was a staunch advocate for worker's rights, much admired and respected by labor unions.

No doubt they were working on getting the provisions added to protect US jobs and wages. You know, the provisions that Bush later ignored and the GOP Congress failed to enforce. Yeah. Those.

Nice try, no cigar.
