Tales from PA
Went canvasing yesterday in Allentown, PA. In the area I canvassed there were more Obama supporters than Clinton supporters.

On a more humorous note my cousin which lives in a subburb of Reading got a call from the Clinton people. He informed them that he and his wife support Senator Obama. There reply was they are going to keep calling till they changes their mind nastily. He informed her that if he was even slightly on the fence before he's now firm in his resolve and if he hears the word I'm calling from the Clinton campain he was hanging up. Than hung up on them.

I have yet to hear of or see Clinton people out canvasing. We had over 50 people out in the neighboorhoods so if they were out there you'd think we'd see one. It appears their strategy is total phone banking at least in my area.

2. "Going to keep calling til they change their mind"?
Oh, THAT'S gonna work. Awesome campaign strategy. No wonder she's kicking ass everywhere.

3. I think
It may be because my cousin's wife is in a union and that union happened to endorse Hillary. I'm suspecting it was a union call bank (I support labor) and not the rank and file.

10. That's what happened here too,
one union phonebanked for Clinton, and the Obama crew was from every walk of life, including unions.

5. Thanks for the on-the-ground report, love this stuff!
I think Clinton's strategy is going to be ... well, ... what can it be, she is about out of money and I imagine a lot of vendors are asking for their money up front. She really doesn't have much to spend after her dismal showing in contributions last month (only about $7M was for the primary and her debts are greater than that).

:dem:

6. While My Son Was Canvassing Yesterday...
He knocked on a door that had a car in the driveway with a "Hillary 08" bumper sticker. The guy that answered the door said it was his wife's car but he was voting for Obama.

7. Times like that
You wish you had a bumper sticker to give to him so he could put one on his car.

8. Thanks for the report!
Please keep us posted. The Allentown area is mostly white working class, and supposed to be a Clinton stronghold, right?

11. Thanks for the report and for your efforts
You could end this nightmare for all of us by giving Clinton the thumping she deserves.

12. Here's MORE Allentown tales....
First, I assumed this was going to be Hillary Turf,
it was a done deal! Allentown/Bethlehem totally blue collar,
ethnic, working people who are Democrat base...

But...
As I drive to work, whose signs do I spy more of?
its like 7 to 1... Many more Obama than Clinton,
even in the blue collar neighborhoods, row houses,
on street corners, and Obama bumperstickers...

And then a little miracle:

I sat in the YOuth Sunday School class today...
the two teachers (who are middle aged blue collar
people, good folks good hearts, but according to
democraphic, they should be in the Hillary Column)
were talking to the kids about prophets, they
(all by themselves, no prompting from me) talk about
how BArack Obama speaks to people like a prophet, how he inspires
people to be their best and he's a real leader. Then one teacher
started in how he enjoyed Obama's books and how it showed what he was
made of....

These were the same folks who told me 3 months ago
that Obama was a muslim. They have done a total turn around.
I was stunned.... something is happening out there in the
neighborhoods... something is reaching these folks..
