Poll question: Donate or buy bumper stickers to give away?
Should I donate $50 to the Kerry campaign, or buy $50 worth of Kerry bumperstickers to give away?

1. The money for the Bumper stickers does not help Kerry.
It goes to a different organization so it doesn't affect his fundraising/spending limits. Donate 40-50 to Kerry and but 10 worth of bumper stickers.

2. BTW, the stickers will change when he picks a VP
So you might want to hold out a little while longer. Your county Dem HQ might have some.

3. Believe me, no one in my county has any extra stickers.
We've already distributed the small stack we got from the campaign.

7. Did you mean to include a link or something?

There is a price break at kerrygear.com so at 100 stickers you only pay 45 cents apiece, I think. That's pretty cheap for a high-quality sticker.

11. Well those are anti-Bush stickers, not pro-Kerry stickers
which won't do what I am trying to accomplish (see post 8).

12. How about this idea..
Buy the pack of 100 stickers..try to sell them for $1 a piece. The stickers would cost $45 dollars and you'd earn $55 for selling them then donate that $55 dollars. :)

14. I think
what you suggest would violate campaign finance laws, technically. Plus I don't want to have to ask for a buck. That would make it less fun for me.

4. I will put a "Vote for Kerry/??????" when that becomes available.
Until then, I sit and wait.

5. Get some bumper stickers out there
Visibility is a good thing, especially in a red state.

8. That's my gut instinct.
It works on a subconscious level. Someone who might be considering voting Kerry, but is resisting that because they identify as a Republican or a conservative or whatever -- if they are seeing Kerry bumperstickers, yard signs, etc. subconsciously they start to think, my neighbors like Kerry, it's 'OK' to like Kerry...

10. People live in fear
That they're the only one who has doubt in Fearless Leader. That's a message which is promoted by mainstream media. The bumper sticker may be the cheapest, most effective way of showing people that they are not alone.

13. Buy a Party Package
That's exactly what I'd do. Much better deal and lots of reusable stuff too!

I planned on doing both all along. But, I thought it was good stuff for people to think about.
