Whining Lefties Take Note: Poll Suggests Kerry Remains Undefined (AP)
The National Annenberg Election Survey found that potential swing voters in the battleground states have not yet decided how they feel about Kerry. A fourth see him favorably and a fourth see him unfavorably, while almost four in 10, 38 percent, remain neutral about him.

Public opinion about Bush was more settled among the persuadable group, with people about evenly split but only one in five having a neutral view of the president.

(NOTE: That's "only" 20% - which what everyone talks about as the "swing" voters.)

Because Kerry must pass the presidential threshold with potential voters, "in large part, this is an election about Kerry," she said.

"Kerry hasn't passed the threshold yet to be perceived as a president," Jamieson said. "If he passes it, George Bush is in serious trouble."

On Iraq, a majority of those considered persuadable was more inclined to want to bring U.S. troops home as soon as possible. The overall public was split on that question.

So much for those millions the diabolical Karl Rove spent on defining Kerry early. Why do we consider this guy a genius again?

Let's actually learn a lesson about all those folks on DU running around every two seconds talking about what a lousy campaign Kerry is running. The man has an impeccable sense of political timing, and survived doomsaying from alot more saavy people than we.

2. Just today he impressed me
by reminding us of the jobs lost since the Chimp took ofice. Kerry is the real thing.

3. I disagree with
the election being in large part about Kerry. I think this election in large part is about Bush. I don't mean to paint Kerry as the anti-Bush exclusively, but I think if he just stays on his message and doesn't have a PR catastrophe, he'll get their votes. As far as passing any threshhold--he actually LOOKS like a President. Kind of Abe Lincolnish. I don't think it will take much to get their votes away from Bush.

8. I Agree With
you. Personally, I am a long time fan of Kerry, and have been for a long time. But this election is going to be a referendum on Bush's record. God help us if he feels he has a mandate during a second term. I mean that whole heartedly - God help us.

4. I was, and still am, a Deaniac.
However, Kerry is going to get the nomination, and I am for ABB.

I will remain a revitalized democrat, revitalized by Howard Dean, but a very tired and elderly American who knows that I, personally, cannot endure, nor can our nation endure, four more years of Bush.

I voted for Nader last time and have been wanting to cut my own throat ever since.

This is just too important. WE cannot stand four more years of Bush.
If Rumsfeld, Ascroft, Rice, Rove and Wolfowitz even let us get to this vote. And if republican controlled states, like mine, give us an honest count, if we are even allowed to vote.

Foreign terrorists killed, murdered, almost three thousand people in one day. With the cutbacks to all the elderly, the mickey-mouse prescription drug plan, the cutbacks on the military benefits, the cutbacks on all social programs, funded by ever increasing corporate glupping at the public trough, at least a hundred times more Americans will die for lack of Social Services.

I live, in this State, in this Country, in terror. I am vulnerable.
And, if they are not defeated, they will continue the slaughter while wrapped in the red, white and blue, and hiding behind the cross.

We simply cannot allow four more years of this.

I don't mind dying, but, at least, I would like some true American troops to come in and demand that those responsible for my death bury my body, and the body of my veteran son.

Look in your dictionary for "Bush haters." you won't see me there. But look under "non-bullshit eating Americans," and my picture is right there.

Whatever happens to me, and you may not yet be told what is happening to me and my veteran son, but I promise you, DU, KEEP GOING. Please.
Fight with everything you have to fight.

Register voters, drive them to the polls, get involved, be poll watchers, work the polls, be responsible. This is, for a whole bunch of us, the most important election I have been involved in since I began voting in 1956.

I am not as strong as I used to be, and am disabled, but, I'll be damned if I won't try to get a wheelchair and go door to door that way. And I will do that in a totally republican controlled State.
I don't mean that much, but the veterans do. My son is a veteran, and may go away before I do. And this administration is going to cut veteran's benefits?

If I can do that, then those who are able bodied and younger, can do that.

DU, don't ever give up. DU members, don't ever give up. Especially now.

Okay, so I am an emotional bitch. You knew that already. lol

Hang in there.

Expect blockades as the election date nears.

5. Don't underestimate Karl, he IS a master of dirty, and anti-democracy
politics, not just anti-Democratic, anti-democracy.

Just revisit 2000, how Gore was portrayed in the media, what happened to McCain.

No, Rove is not all powerfull, but don't ever make the mistake of thinking he is not very, very dangerous. He should be a symbol for us, of dirty politics, lies, and corruption. We should dig up every dirty trick, smear, and false statement that he ever was a part of and educate America about him. Then use him to paint the opposition every time they misquote, smear, or use ad homonym attacks.

Make him a liability by making his name the modern equivalent of McCarthyism.

Rove hates democracy, as do many neo-cons. Why do I say this? just look at their actions in elections. They want to take away choice, stifle debate and dialog. You think the Democratic Party is bad? Well money has done a lot of harm to the party, but we are STILL not as bad as the Republican Party.

I'm not scared of him, I'm scared of what we might let him get away with.

6. Agreed. They seem to have a good strategy so far.
If it ain't broke.....

As Dean said, Kerry's a closer. This is going to be a tough pull. I hope Kerry can do it. A lot is riding on it (as if I need to say that).

I've noticed him getting gradually more vocal. Sounds like he's progressing at a pre-planned rate.

7. This is why Kerry must do two things:
(1) Campaign in more of these battleground states, i.e., the South and Midwest.

(2) Put Edwards on the ticket as veep, which will help with objective (1).
