4. Texas BBQ is generally beef
though I'm not sure whether there's a halal butcher near Crawford... :-)

The Bushies have, however, run afoul of the politics of BBQ in the past. During the primary leading up to Selection 2000, they scheduled a victory celebration in Georgia, featuring Southeastern pork BBQ -- at an Atlanta-area Jewish community center! (The menu was hastily changed after someone got a clue.)

5. I really don't think so
I think even if they find him in October, it won't be because they had him all along. It's not that I think they're above it or anything; I've just decided that Karl Rove isn't the genius we once thought he was. Based on the pattern of the recent Bush team PR attempts, they are really shortsighted and I don't think they're plans are complex enough to fit in an Osama conspiracy. Look at Iraq: It was a great way to win the primaries, but they never thought about how it could screw up the general later. I think that if they caught Osama, they would come out with him insantly. Timing is not their forte. Volume is.
