6. freepholes are scared of Edwards and Gephardt also
because they see edwards as taking away some moderate-conservative leaning white male voters which tend to be part of bush's base. and afraid of gephardt because he is very likely to bring missouri to the democratic side. it's kind of good to get a look at what they are seeing because they only look at what kerry is doing with his vp search in terms of how it will help/hurt kerry while we tend to look more at what we like personally even though it might not help much in getting votes.

7. I think Kerry wins no matter what
Bush is so vulnerable and people REALLY see the need for competence.
The landslide looks more and more likely.

5. don't approve but would vote Kerry still. can he bring Georgia ?
anyone know if he can bring georgia ? i think john breaux is probably more likely to gaurantee louisiana than sam nunn georgia. and if kerry decided to go with a conservative southern democrat i would much more prefer john breaux. maybe kerry can do something like say he wants sam nunn to be sec of defense and get sam nunn out there representing him on national security issues.

Georgia and Texas are lost causes for now. Take it from one who lives in Georgia.

10. I think it could help in Florida and Louisiana
really, i think it makes a lot of sense.
Carter and Nunn are 2 of the most popular Southern Dems ever.
Nunn has already had national exposure, and a lot of people view him favorably.

13. But imagine this acceptance speech by Nunn
"I thought my time in public life was over a while ago. But thanks to the unbelievable incompetence of George W. Bush and his horrendous administration, the damage they have done to our nation's reputation throughout the world, and because a true patriot such as John Kerry has asked me- I have decided it is my duty as an American and a Democrat to run for, and win, the Vice Presidency of the United states of America"

Doesn't this guy look like the warm, compassionate counterpart to Kerry?

Screw Edwards/Clark/Gephardt... This guy speaks to the people!

16. But that's not an unflattering picture of Nunn...
That's just what dude looks like. It screams "uptight republican" as opposed to "fighting for the working man". Just my opinion, Kerry needs someone who "the working man/woman" feels IS fighting for them... otherwise, they might stupidly just go with Bush again (or just not vote).

14. Approve, with this disclaimer.
If it helps Kerry win, then fine and dandy, I can live with Nunn (not happily, but I'd survive). If he brings no more to the table than do Edwards, Clark, Gephardt, et al, then 'No, thank you.'

17. HELL NO!
He is anti-reproductive rights, and anti-gays in the military. No way, no how.

Why even look at these people when we have dozens of other well qualified, competent democrats who don't sacrifice our core values?
