Wes Clark on NPR "Here and Now" Today! check local times
Received this e-mail just a short time ago:

June 10, 2004

Dear James,

Thank you for your continued support of WesPAC! I just wanted to send you a brief email to alert you to a national radio interview with Wes Clark today.

General Clark will be a guest on National Public Radio's "Here and Now," broadcast on local stations across the country beginning at 12pm ET. Local broadcast times vary significantly, so please check http://www.here-now.org/stations/ for your local station and air time.

And if you miss the radio appearance live, you can visit http://www.here-now.org/ to listen to Wes Clark's interview online.

Also, I hope you read General Clark's recent article entitled "Key to Success" published in the New Republic last week. In the article, he offers additional recommendations for salvaging our mission in Iraq. You can read the entire article at http://www.tnr.com/doc.mhtml?i=20040607&s=clark060704.

Again, thank you for everything you have done and continue to do to support Wes Clark and WesPAC!

Best regards,

Catherine Grunden
Executive Director
WesPAC -- Securing America's Future

1. NPR's Here and Now site
says coverage of Mourners Honoring Reagan today...so now I'm not 100% sure Clark will be on.

4. To paraphrase whatsizname...
I knew Reagan and George W Bush is NO Reagan.

So what if Reagan was no Reagan either (if you know what I mean). Clark still wins points for Kerry on this one. This is just one more thing only he can say and be believable.

5. Americans are shortsighted

They want to attribute the winning of the cold war to one President. Clark does an excellent job of setting the record straight and still gives Reagan credit where credit is due. I don't remember him giving dubya any credit in there though, heh.

9. Brilliant politically.
Clearly points out W's failings while expanding credit for winning the Cold War back to Truman.

10. *sigh*
I really, really, really, really want someone in the White House I can learn from!
I am nearly an expert on the Middle East and I am STILL learning things from Clark - the nuance isn't lost on this old soldier.
"We're on the periphery of a civil war in Islam..."
Thank God someone finally said it!

11. I feel the neo-cons know this
and welcome it. I wonder when I see the policy in Iraq if this isn't their goal. They might welcome the chaos and bloodshed and the increase in value of their oil. They would like to have the industrialized world at their mercy.

12. Yeah, but are they after a
civil war between moderate and extremist Muslims or are they truly after the Rapture the Religious Right seem to crave so much?
Either way, it's scary.
Of course, it will be funny when the wingnuts are really "left behind." :P

13. They're just doing the Lord's work.
They're not like those religious fanatics over there. I just hope I'm right and don't end up in some eternity with the likes of them.

15. Bush wants the Crusade...
...Clark knows how devastating it would be.

Out the man who puts his ideology before his morals, and in a man who's morals come before his ideology.
