Clarkies: Wes at the ICC June-6-9 see who he hung out with....
OK. so he stopped by the Ukraine and Romanani, discussing NATO and oil and trade.

Then, by sheer accident, I found a site (Former Peace Corps Volunteers for Clark--great site, will post URL later...have to go to the vet now) that lead me to the Int'l Chamber of Commerce World Congress....lo and below, there's Wes on a roundtable with the Trade Minister of the EU, among others.

Sure, it's a "private visit" and he's there as Pres. &CEO of Wesley K Clark Associates..........but that's small potatoes compared to who else is there. I think it's a cover for his continuing "connecting" in Europe..

Now, we hear he's on Hear and Now going after Bushco's attempt to hook on to Reagan....(see DU thread)

He's back in the US on June 17....Then .....

1. June 28 - Four Star Salute to General Wes Clark
Hosted by Charlie Rangel with a performance by Tony-Award winning dancer Savion Glover. It will be June 28 at CODA on 34th Street in Midtown Manhattan.

8. So, it's not just a fundraiser for Rangel, but a Salute to Gen. Clark???
Edited on Thu Jun-10-04 04:09 PM by Gloria
Well, ...why? Why not salute Geppy or Tom from Iowa? Unless it's part of the slow buildup we've all been speculating about...............

If this was just a return the favor type of appearance for Rangel's primary endorsement....but it seems to be a twist....Rangel raising $$ but also saluting Clark....MMM.

4. I guess he's back home now
Edited on Thu Jun-10-04 03:14 PM by hf_jai
The NPR radio interview this morning was live from Little Rock.

I think our projection of his return on June 17th was mostly based on his being the guest of honor at a big, high-roller fundraiser for Kerry in DC on the 18th. Unless someone heard something more than I did. But I did get an e-mail from WesPAC last week that said he'd be returning "next" (this) week.

Edited to add: Oh, I forgot. A friend in Springfield tells me the date of the Missouri fundraiser in June 29th.

9. Playing "Where's Wes" just got easier
His schedule is now posted at www.wespac2004.com. Altho, I'm a little confused about what they have there... but I'm sure it'll get straightened out.

And you're right, he's gonna be in MO on June 30th, not what I said above.

It's a little hit or miss, but it's something.

13. Instead of Where in the World is
Carman Sandiego, we could start a club: Where in the world is Wesley K. Clark?

5. Wow! That guest list was impressive!
I'm sure you're right...Wes there representing WKCAssoc. has definitely got to be a cover. Something BIG going on with WES.
Thought...maybe he will be Sec.Of Commerce!
Anyone have any plus or minus thoughts of that?

7. I don't think it would be Commerce, esp. since he was out today
talking about Reagan vs. Bush on foreign policy. Remember, his main interest is foreign policy...

But, once out of the military, he gravitated toward consulting and he has a huge interest in technology. So his company provided an excellent "excuse" for him to show up at the ICC. But if it hadn't been for all his prior credentials, would they have picked him to be on a roundtable with such heavy hitters on the basis of WKC Assoc. alone??? I doubt it.....
