WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democratic leaders in the U.S. House of Representatives have summoned members to a meeting on Tuesday to discuss ways to win back control of the Republican-led chamber in the November election, aides said.

"This is being presented as close to a mandatory meeting that we've ever had," a leadership aide said on Monday.

House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi of California "has made it clear she expects all to be there" for the luncheon gathering, said the aide, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Rep. Robert Matsui of California, chairman of the House Democratic campaign committee, will help provide members with a look at selected House races, the aide said. "He's going to explain why we think we can win," another aide said.
