I'm sure he'd love to move on, but the Clinton campaign has continued to beat a dead horse. If they insist on keeping this story in the news cycle, it has to expected that the press is going to scrutinize their past statements on this subject. If stuff like this comes up, it can't be said it is for lack of the Obama campaign wanting to admit a screw up and move on.
