I'm have been convinced that Edwards should be VP
I was watching Tweety's show last night and the idea came up that Edwards message of "2 Americas" is something that Kerry needs. Kerry is not making a case against the war but if he picked Edwards, then the ticket would be one with a message that resonates with most Dem voters.

They said that a good idea would be for Kerry to make a stand against prolonging the war. Have a timetable for with drawl and let Edwards do his thing about the "2 Americas." I agree.

1. While I am biased towards Clark, I also think Edwards would be
a wonderful pick. He is an excellent speaker, full of energy and would make Kerry's case for him very well.

Like I said, I am biased towards Clark but could easily get excited about Edwards.

2. Edwards is great, and Kerry is starting to use his theme and tone.
Kerry's speech yesterday to the AFL-CIO.

-snip-

"I believe in building up our great middle class," he told New Jersey's AFL-CIO. "I'm running for president because I want an economy that strengthens and expands the middle class, not one that squeezes it."

Kerry excoriated the administration for ignoring those who are struggling in favor of the wealthy, and for protecting pharmaceutical companies rather than consumers. He ridiculed the administration for developing a complicated tax code that he said panders to corporate America. "Our tax code has gone from 14 pages to 17,000 pages. Do any of you have your own page?" he said to laughter from his union audience. "Enron got its own a page. . . . And it looks like Halliburton got a whole chapter."

The forcefulness of Kerry's delivery and the words he chose were clearly intended to address critics in his party who privately say Kerry -- who often comes off as aloof and elitist -- has failed to excite the Democratic base and to give dissatisfied Republicans and swing voters positive reasons why they should turn to him for leadership.

3. I wonder if that is a "sign".
A sign that he has made up his mind for VP and is just waiting to inform the public closer to the convention.

Maybe I am just reading to much into this too!

5. Flowing economic power down to the middle class is the best bulwark

against the fascism that has resulted in Iraq War and everything else Bush has done.

This is a great message, and it really slays the beast by sticking a sword right in its heart.

4. Al Frankin also made a good case for Edwards...
I liked this line by Al Frankin...

I would go with Edwards.

I‘ll tell you why. The job of the running mate is to make the case for the guy at the top of the ticket. Well, who would you like to make the case for you other than one of the great trial lawyers in our country?

He also went on to explain that Edwards background and contrast to Kerry and the Two America theme would help in places like Ohio,Kentucky and Missouri.
