Obama Has Proven Absolutely INCOMPETENT Handling This Bitter Crap. He Still Hasn't
boiled it down to the simple, basic truth that can be expressed in two fucking words "Wedge Issue".

He could have ended this by demanding Hillary tell the public if she knows what Wedge Issues are and how the GOP have used them to divide Americans.

This will continue on and it will cause even MORE damage until/unless someone on his campaign wakes up and gets those two simple words out and confronts Hillary with them'

And waiting for the debate IS TOO LATE.

1. How many average voters even know what a "wedge issue" is?
Only the people I know who are into politics know the term.

Obama's Explanation of 'Controversial' Remarks Moves Democrats and Independents

The study was conducted by HCD Research earlier today to obtain Americans' perceptions of video segments from Senator Obama's speech in Indiana yesterday, in which he addressed controversial comments that he made during a fundraiser in San Francisco on April 6. At the fundraising event, he was asked why his message has failed to resonate with working class voters in states like Pennsylvania. He responded by saying decades of lost jobs and unfulfilled promises from Washington have left some Pennsylvanians "bitter" and clinging to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.

While viewing segments of the speech, participants indicated their levels of agreement by moving their mouse from left to right on a continuum. The responses were recorded in quarter-second intervals and reported in the form of curves. Participants were also asked pre- and post-viewing questions regarding their agreement regarding Barack Obama statements. To view detailed results and agreement curves, go to: www.mediacurves.com.

Among the study findings:

Do you think Barack Obama's comments were elitist or out of touch, as his
critics have claimed?

2. Perhaps he's wise to the fact that they can't keep pointing at Hillary when they screw up?
I agree though.
It is trouble, and he could be handling it better.

7. Thanks for your concern. The media is pre-occupied with this "shiny" object
for the moment, but they'll get bored. I suggest you guys put a muzzle on Bill until Hillary secures the nomination. I'll say this for the Mc-Clinton campaign, they may have scored on this one. But this doesn't solve Hillary's problem, and that is that the M$M doesn't like her, and that's not going to change just because Obama gets taken out.

24. The media doesn't like anyone but the Rep candidate once the GE starts.
Our role it to nominate someone who can survive that fact.

28. I'm not sure what you base your certainty on?
What has Hillary survived? Obama's won more delegates, more votes, more primaries, more caucuses, more money, and on and on and on...

So I'm not sure why you think Obama wouldn't handle the GE just as well as Hillary. Surely you've been disappointed in Hillary's handling of Tuzla, NAFTA, Bill, etc. We'll see how Obama handles this, and wait for next Clinton shoe to drop.

The MSM is playing for ratings now.
They'll get more serious once we have a nominee.

Agree on the ratings, but neither Dem candidate will skate to the White House. The media loves John McCain, they despise Hillary, and they're scared to death of Obama.

Too bad that is lost on Obama and his supporters, chiefly based affluent folks living in metropolitan areas. That is why it was elitist. He doesn't understand them and looks down upon their culture. What do Chicago millionaires do for fun? Go bowling with dress pants and a tie?

9. Obama should hold a press conference and put Wedge Issue in the discourse
And speak to the whole issue once and for all and put it to bed.

As a candidate he can call a press conference at any time and have his say and let the press have at it.

14. It isn't about wedge issues. Whe did folks start to go to church and own guns?
"Wedge issues" as we commonly know them today were created in the 1960's by the rethugs.

This is no time for Obama to educate the public about how we're divided and sucker-punched over wedge issues. The public already knows that instinctively anyway. Sit back and watch PA play out. :hi:

People are so sick of the same old, same old that they're not falling for the same old tricks anymore.

I'm looking forward to the debate though because that's when more people are gonna come off the fence. How do you think PA will go?

nothing!

In fact, a couple of PA papers have endorsed him since.

In other words, no big deal - as Obama said, he was "clumsy" with his words originally. He miss-spoke, but it will not hurt him.

20. You're falling for the 24/7 distortions. Don't you see, nothing.. NOTHING he could do
or say would appease them. They will run with this until they feel they can't get anymore advertisting dollars from the "blood" they spill.

They will run with it until people stop watching or the backlash makes them stop. It happened with Wright, the same.

Remember this: MOST Americans are NOT watching this. They are working, commuting, mowing lawns, doing homework with kids, fixing supper.. the normal everyday activities. MOST Americans have already either voted, or decided who to vote for. This will change no minds.

Hillary will win PA, as expected, but by single digits. By then, something new will be the outrage du jour. In essence, there is nothing you can do and fretting over it will change nothing. By all means, turn OFF THE TV. Stop reading DU. You're in the middle of an echo chamber that is populated by about a dozen Hillary supporters who are absolute fanatics to the point of being republicans. They will be gone when Obama is the nominee. You can't do anything about them either. :hi:

So take a break. I am. I did it with Wright and it blew over. I'm doing it now. Life is good in the real world.. enjoy it :-)

26. You have to ask yourself why it is that the media refuses to lay a glove
on McCain? The Clinton and McCain campaigns have consistently coordinated their efforts to take down Obama, with the assistance of an all too eager media. Every misstep/misspeak will be amplified because the establishment (Clinton, McCain, M$M) are totally threatened by this young man's ability to reach the people where they live; people who will send $10, $25 & $50 donations....that's very threatening to the status quo. Don't you think they shit their collective britches when Obama pulled in $55 million in a month's time, and followed that up with a $40 million month? Come On.....

We've all known that Obama would be targeted by the left & the right, so relax, and let Obama handle this in his own way. It really does none of us any good to fret about things beyond our control, at this point.
