Kerry needs to bolster his image a LOT more
Edited on Thu Jun-17-04 12:11 AM by Cronus
I don't have cable, so I get to see only what the masses see. News item, Bush meeting leaders of foreign countrues, speaking to troops via satellite link, defending America's position on Iraq, etc.

Cut to Kerry. Tall man in a plain suit talking long slow phrases about education or something that took so long for him to say it was difficult to figure out his position on the matter, whatever it was anyway.

Kerry people, listen up. We need more biking, hockey shots. He needs to meet and greet in sports gear, with lots of good looking women around him, sporty middle class females would be best. He needs to get his sound bytes into 15 second segments, no more, and what he says must be clear and unambiguous, without nuance or complexity.

I'm sure there's more they could improve on. What suggestions do you have to help him win?

1. he should just continue to do
whatever he's been doing to date that has put him up in almost all polls and allowed him to raise record-breaking funds.

3. What he's doing is showing up and being the vessel for our hopes
True, Kerry did not dominate the primaries because he's corrupt or rich or has magical powers; he has real strengths. And while I'm one of these mokes who subscribes to the theory that Team Kerry is managing a "rope-a-dope" strategy while Team Shrub is fighting off various scandals and spending with both hands, the crux of the biscuit is that when Ali was satisfied that Foreman was starting to tire, Ali started hitting him. That was what did Foreman in, because-not to put too fine a point on it-Ali could punch hard enough to kill an adult buffalo.

I think there is a justified level of nervousness among Democrats that Kerry is going to misjudge the time or start hitting back or simply fail to hit back at all. If not now, then when, y'know?

5. Nice suit in that picture
A bit fruity, but that's appealing to a segment. At least no on can call him "dour" in that get up.

6. get rid of the suits and into some blue jeans
Time to have some bus tours...some in the rust belt, the border states, and even in the northeast. Those bus tours in 1992 helped bring Clinton back up from third place in the polls to having a 20-point lead over Bush. Kerry needs to show some pride when speaking about his service record, modesty will not defeat the incumbent. And most importantly, Kerry must not hold back any punches in this dogfight. This campaign will become very ugly, and Kerry must be prepared to fight ruthlessly to win.

7. I personally do not need biking and hockey shots. Yuck. You see...

The point is, you can't please everybody. Kerry is not running for athletic director. He's running for president. You may want to see biking and hockey. I don't. What's a Kerry to do?

8. I hear escort services can provide any kind of "good looking women"
you are in the market for. Maybe he can call the Mayflower Madame.
I agree with the rest of what you say, however I don't think any womans function should be to stand around looking good to promote some man's career, no matter who he is. That was incredibly insulting and sexist.
