What Reagan bounce?
The pundits and commentators were all saying "expect a bounce for Bush" due to the week long love fest for Ronald Reagan. But, fresh polls seem to indicate that the guy getting a bounce is democrat John Kerry. ABC-News shows Kerry expanding his lead and even Fox's favorite poll--Rasmussen gives Kerry a three point edge. So what goes on here? Could it be that when contrasted with Reagan's Sunny disposition and "Morning in America" rhetoric--the chimp just doesn't measure up?

My guess is that there is a fresh issue on the table and the Democrats need to exploit it for all its worth--and that is the cost of living--INFLATION--the thing which sunk Carter in 1980. People are talking not only about the high gas prices but the cost of groceries and this affects everyone.

3. Soybeans are through the roof - dog food (w/soy) up 10-15%
...this year. And when you have seven dogs you notice that kind of stuff. :eyes:

Inflation could be problematic for Smirky. I remember in the late 70s/early 80s getting two salary increases a year just to keep up with the double digit inflation we had at the time. Carter definitely paid the price for that.

7. Sad part is individual farmers are still losing money.
Corporate farms and chain supermarkets set the prices, and reap the profits. Charging what they can get away with, just like all the other corporate sponsors of Bushco, sucking like crazy from the public teat!

2. isn't that sad that Bush needs Reagan for a bounce...
using the passing of a past President for his own political gain is quite something.

Why would he need that if he is such a great President? Wouldn't he get a bounce of his "great" accomplishments? Lets start listing them all:
1. Nothing
2. Zilch
3. Zero
4. Negative
5. WW III coming soon ...

4. People were not nearly as unified behind Reagan as the media love fest
said. Just because any truthtelling was censored does not mean that people's views of his presidency changed.
