Roll call vote on the media gag
I'm sure this has been posted somewhere here today, but I just got here and it has been a very long day.

does anyone have a link for the roll call vote in the Senate yesterday regarding the media gag on the American dead returning home from Iraq?

Who are the Democrats voting to retain it? I'm sure Holy Joe and Zell were 2 of them, but the vote was 54 - 39...Yikes!

1. I think Biden was one as well.
That would account for 3.

3. Lieberman did NOT vote against it,
but a surprising and disappointingly large number of others did.

4. Any thoughts of Evan Bayh in VP contention are GONE
Not that he was a big contender... but time to scratch his name off the list.

6. As important as this vote was...
You think Kerry would just shrug it off as a loss and not even think about the Dems that voted the other way?

7. There were two votes
There was the vote on the Warner amendment that said that the Bush Administration's policy is appropriate in order to protect the privacy of the soldiers' families.

However, there was also a vote on the Lautenberg Amendment which required the Administration to come up with protocol for the media to cover the coffins returning.

Yet, some senators voted for both amendments or against both amendments even though they say the opposite thing!
