Kerry Maintains Lead Over Bush in Ohio (Kerry 49%, Bush 43%)
John Kerry continues to lead George W. Bush among likely voters in Ohio according to a survey by the American Research Group. A total of 49% of likely voters say they would vote for Kerry if the presidential election were being held today and 43% say they would vote for Bush. A total of 2% of likely voters say they would vote for Ralph Nader and 6% of likely voters are undecided. These results are unchanged from May.

In a race between just Kerry and Bush, Kerry is at 50%, Bush is at 44%, and 6% are undecided. In May, Kerry was leading Bush 50% to 43%, with 7% undecided.

These results are based on 600 completed telephone interviews among a statewide random sample of likely voters in Ohio. Of the 600 likely voters, 38% consider themselves to be Republicans, 39% consider themselves to be Democrats, and 23% consider themselves to be independents. The interviews were conducted June 21 through 23, 2004. The theoretical margin of error for the total sample of 600 is plus or minus 4 percentage points, 95% of the time, on questions where opinion is evenly split.

2. On Cspan
a couple day ago a guy called up who lives there and said Bush had a 10 point lead. The newspaper guy who was on the show ( I forget his name) said he only heard that Bush had a 6 point lead. So I don't know what to believe. I don't know how they would want to vote for him in Ohio.

6. Zogby's poll from 6-15 to 6-20 has Bush up 6 points
This poll was taken on the 21st though. Is kind of odd that two different polls of likely voters show totally opposite results. Probably means the race is closer to being tied, but for today Kerry is up and I'm not looking back!

7. Was it Zogby Interactive, or a regular poll?
Because the Interactive results aren't worth the paper they're written on.

11. Interactive, prominent in todays (6/25) WSJ
Edited on Fri Jun-25-04 10:57 AM by Capn Sunshine
what's wrong with an "interactive " poll? I thought it just means there's a java applet running on the online map so you can get individual stats to pop up when you roll over the state on the map. You know, interactive.

Is there something else going on?

4. don't get cocky....
I saw bill clinton on charlie rose last night warning us not to underestimate *bush. Said he's a lot smarter and wily than we give him credit.

If the margin is 6 percentage points, we should aim for 12.

I wish he would have said "Don't Misunderestimate him" instead though. Would have been brilliant.
