Poll question: I will vote for john Kerry regardless of his VP choice:
This poll assumes that no Republican will be picked, and futher assumes that Sen. Kerry will not pick some loathsome toad like Zell Miller, or other DINO. ;)

Cast your votes, folks!

3. Gephardt is a deal-breaker?
I must confess that I have not paid enough attention to him. The unions sure seem to like him, but I don't know enough about him.

9. Gephardt isnt as bad as people say he is, I'll get flammed but what the he
If you're a believer in traditional liberal economics, like pro union, anti free trade etc, I think you would like Gephardt. He's a lil more traditional but by all means still liberal on cultural issues. A tad hawkish on foreign policy but all around Gephardt is a solid democrat.

12. Gephardt should've resigned as minority leader in mid 2002
Edited on Thu Jun-24-04 09:49 PM by Hippo_Tron
I can accept voting for the IWR with the intention of running for president because I know what the political climate was like in late 2002. However, he should've resigned as minority leader when the whole Iraq thing started and let Pelosi lead the democrats as an anti-war voice. Unfortunately I think that he made too many self-serving moves in this situation. My guess is that he held out until after the election to decide to run for president with hopes that the democrats might win the House in 2002 and that he'd become speaker.

13. He's a deal breaker for me.
If he's on the ticket, that's just too far for me to bend. I'm hardly a Kerry fan, but with Gep, that'd be the end for me.

2. Other
I won't vote for a pro-war message.

If Kerry chooses a pro-war VP (like Edwards) I'm afraid he'll run with a praise the war and damn the execution platform. I'm really hoping this doesn't happen.

11. On a somewhat unrelated note, didn't Edwards say he would've invaded Iraq?
Had he been in Bushes shoes. I totally disagree with this and have much less respect for Edwrads for it. Of course I'm supporting Kerry because the bottom of the ticket is meaningless. Presidents don't often die in office and even so I would much prefer John Edwards over chimp as president.

14. I can't answer that until Kerry makes a choice...
Edited on Fri Jun-25-04 12:34 AM by flaminbats
The answer is probably. But his pick for running mate is an important part of what I will consider when voting. Did Kerry use good judgment in making the selection, and could his running mate be an effective President during a crisis?

15. I'll vote for Kerry unless...
Something terrible happens and Ralph Nader becomes the only viable alternative to Bush.

All of the potential VP candidates have problems. I'll be more thrilled with some than others.

The bottom line for me is do I want Bush and company out of office?
