NYTimes buying $1.5 million in gifts for Republicans during NYC convention
The link goes to a long article, but check out this part:

When 5,000 Republican delegates arrive in New York for the Aug. 30-Sept. 2 convention, they'll be given free tickets to shows like "42nd Street," "Wonderful Town," "The Lion King""The Lion King" and "Bombay Dreams."

Salute to Broadway, a group spearheaded by League of American Theaters & Producers, arranged for tickets to special Sunday night performances, all paid for by the New York Times.

The N.Y. Times is coughing up approximately $1.5 million in various amenities to make Gotham fun for the delegates. Reps of the paper wouldn't give specifics about the outlay for Broadway, but the cost would be at least $600,000.

In a written statement, Times chairman Arthur Sulzberger Jr. explained, "The New York Times believes in New York, in Broadway and in democracy. We're delighted to be playing a role in bringing all three together for a night of entertainment and enlightenment."

1. If I win the lottery between now and then...
I shall hire all the "girls" who work the approaches to the Lincoln and Holland Tunnels and send them off on "dates" with Repukes.

4. Start with Judith Miller. She is used to being a whore.

2. I heard the play selection
was a little tricky. Nothing too gay would do, or too "offensive" to the uptight pugs.
Jesus, they have depressing lives...

As an aside, I'm so glad I cancelled my subscription to the NY Times after their hatchet job on Bob Kerrey!

3. There's going to be enough protesting
in NYC to counteract any "fun" they may get from the NYT's tickets to Broadway shows.
