The Washington Times is dumping on F911

Uses Slate's "Liberal columnist Christopher Hitchens" saying "a film that bases itself on a big lie....To describe this film as dishonest and demagogic would almost be to promote those terms to the level of respectability....Fahrenheit 9/11 is a sinister exercise in moral frivolity, crudely disguised as an exercise in seriousness."

and reports that White House spokesman Dan Bartlett told ABC on Friday that the documentary is "outrageously false" and not "based upon any facts." saying Mr. Moore has made it a habit of his not to pay attention to facts. And he comes from a very extreme ideology."

and that GOPer Mehlman said "Al Gore delivered another gravely false attack on the president...Another member of the coalition, Chairman Terry McAuliffe, embraced Michael Moore."
=================================================================
BUT one should note that nowhere did the Washington Times point out what was part was a lie, or gravely false, in anything being said by the Dems......hmmmmm .......

2. By the sounds of it, the Wash. Times could just as easily have been
reviewing their own performance as a "news source".

He doesn't think well on his feet either. I watched him debate "F9/11" on Crossfire and he was impotent.

5. they are right!
the film is full of inacuracies and lies... all spoken by the current administration!

they are sure good at those broad statements, but i've yet to hear any details!

how can they claim it was Moore who is lying when everything in the film was backed up by footage of bushie and his cronies supporting everything that was said.

film highlight... Moore handing out brochures to congress and telling them to get their children to inlist... one congressman looked at him like, are you nuts??

heh!

as a mom, i felt lila's pain... and she is but one of hundreds of mothers in that situation. the ending statement about how our brave enlisted trust not to be put in harm's way unnecessarily about ripped my heart out. 'rockin' in the free world' was a great closing tune.

And should be used by every moderate to left-leaning pundit in defending the flick against the right-wing memes.

*pats Juniper on the back.

7. Bad logic in the attacks
Merely asserting the exact opposite of what is the case without recourse to any creditable facts as the documentary does is not to recognize that the media is simply too afraid to enter the field of the evidence at all.

It is stupid, childish namecalling- fear, hate and off topic reaction typically employed by- the guilty party.

In fact Hitchens reverses it right off the bat. Moore uses a calmly frivolous tone to calm a subject on intense moral seriousness. The sardonic, ironic pose that frames and tours the objective t=facts so much actively suppressed(still) by our esteemed critics, who though slovenly and disrespectful and unprofessional wear girdles but no baseball caps.

Sure someone might have done it better, but none of our timorous weasels have done anything. Moore has picked up the discarded truth and championed its cause.

These esteemed media dignitaries, like Hoover who ignored the Mafia until RFK upstaged him, are furious and spiteful- and justly threatened. Spite, combined with lies, creates an ugly laughably frivolous sham compared to the Moore frame around unexamined facts.
