3. It Is Country Wide
Dimbo will do fairly well in Indiana and Kentucky.

On the other hand....

4. we live in Indianapolis.....
..one must realize the history of this state..very strong Klan ties in the 20's..many of the people here migrated from the south to work in the factories when Indpls was a strong auto manufacturing center...even though we are above the mason -Dixon line, the mindset is predominantly southern....

5. Poll conducted for RW Indiana Manufacturer's Association
...not that it means it's not accurate, but a consideration. I'm not familiar with the work of Bellwether. Anyone on that?

Also, note there are 10% more R's than D's in the sample. Yet undecideds are up from 7% in the March poll to 9% in the June poll. And Bush seems to be topped out at 52%. Conventional wisdom would hold that he won't go much higher.

As a longtime Hoosier I still think * will win Indiana. But this isn't bad news for kerry. It'd probably be 53-47 if the vote were held during the polling dates. With F911 and many more stinky revelations ahead, this poll actually makes me think we're headed for a good result in November.

6. Kerry isn't going to win the state
and this poll shows that Bayh won't be chosen as VP.

7. I live in Bloomington, IN
and people here HATE Bush. But Bloomington is a culturally enlightened oasis in an area with a dark history of racism and bigotry. Bush will most likely win Indiana, but liberals in this state still campaign as passionately as those in swing states.

8. Just got back from Indiana
I grew up in Bloomington and I went home for a little visit this weekend. Though I could not get my Republican mother to see F911, I did get her to see another movie at the same theater. Why? I wanted to guage the turn-out. It was sold out... all day and into the next. I'm not sure where the polling took place, but it couldn't have been in B-town. I saw Kerry bumper stickers everywhere, and editorials in the paper that were very anti-Bush. I know there is a big university population surge in the fall, but that can't account for the entire families I saw streaming out of the complex.

It was actually very encouraging to see such progressiveness in my old stomping grounds.

10. Bloomington, too!
Realistically, I can't believe that Indiana will go for Kerry, but I'm hoping that its better than that because we have a tough governor's race, where the Rep. challenger is Mitch Daniels, Bush* budget director and creator of our lovely deficit.

Bloomington itself will go strongly for Kerry, but we are indeed a blue island in a sea of red, thanks to IU.

11. The Indiana Manufacturer's Assoc....
and only 600 people polled...this holds no water at all.

Pretty bad poll for what it is worth.

600 manufacturer's/associates of manufacturer's do not impress me in the least.

15. No matter which way you slice it Kerry wont win Indiana
52/36 would be a STRONG showing compared to gore. Even the b-town hoosiers are more conservative than ever, although that seems to be a national trend among students.
