Don't know Representative Bob Filner (D)CA of San Diego? Well he was the ONLY WHITE congresscritter to stand with the Congressional Black Caucus to protest the Florida fraud.

Based on his record, Filner is one of the most liberal Democrats around. He'll automatically get the Black vote, the liberal and progressive votes, the labor vote, and the liberal Jewish and minority votes.

But more that that, Michael Moore would support him too, as the depiction of the CBC protest in F9/11 shows. Filner wasn't in the film, but showing how he alone stood up in 2000 would make a mighty powerful TV campaign ad.

Filner is the only Democrat in Congress who won't make deals and can't be bought.

He won't appeal to die-hard neocons, but then neither does Kerry.

Swing voters? If they want regime change they'll welcome Filner to the ticket. If they've been go-along-to-get-along types up until now, they'll go along with whatever the ticket might be.

Wanna see how clean this new broom would sweep?

Bob Filner is my congresscritter here in south San Diego...
I don't think he's ready for the big time, but that's just me.

4. Since Filner was the ONLY white who stood with the CBC

he's readier for the big time than Kerry is, IMO.

He does lack national name recognition, but after F9/11 a few ads showing him standing with the CBC in 2000 would change that quickly.
