1. Ugh! Though Whoredruff will shill mightily for her Imperial Masters
Will make derrogatory side-comments and snipes. She will ask her question accusingly, rather than the loving, supportive she reserves for her Imperial masters.

Whoredruff is a train wreck, and could be the Poster Girl for why Imperial Amerikan "journalism" has become the Global Laughingstock and more like Commie China than Cronkite.

6. Is she really 68? I measn, I knew she was Plastic Fantastic, but 68..?
Although, her hideous Plastic Surgery Job is the least of reason to loathe her.

I loathe her because she is a Bushevik Mockingbird or perhaps worse. Every day she goes on the air and damages "jounrlaistic ethics" (if there even is such a thing anymore here in the Empire).

She is the Poster Girl for the Weakness and Putridity and Gullibility of Corporate TV Pravda.

2. Clark SLAMS Bush, calling him a flip-flopper...
...and telling that Bush only went to NATO out of necessity, not want of assistance because he really wanted to go it alone.

Says Kerry can do a better job of getting international support simply because he is better respected and is a different 'face' than what the world has been dealing with: an uncredible Preznit.

EXCELLENT INTERVIEW...and Judy even called him a "Loyal Soldier"!

7. Yup, That Was A Good Line
He said that bu$h said the UN was not "good enough" and now he wants international support (UN), and that's what he should have done in the first place. Ha ha ha! Way to rip 'm, Clark! Yeah, that's a flip flop - for sure.

8. I think she was being snide
with the "loyal soldier" remark.

I mean, I sure think it's a compliment, but somehow I didn't get that impression from her. And of course, he wasn't there when she said it.

I also am SURE I heard her give a pained "sigh" when he was speaking, altho I can't remember when exactly. Bitch.

But Clark was more brilliant than usual, if that's possible. I loved the flip-flop comment, and the little half-laugh as he said it. Can't get that from a transcript. Also the dig at Delay. I know how Clark despises Delay.

From the transcript:

CLARK: Well, John Kerry's a different person. He comes in with a fresh face, without all the baggage that President Bush has accumulated now with the Europeans. I think John Kerry will be very much respected, admired and supported by the people in Europe, and by their governments.

I think it's going to be a whole new sweep. Just like Tom DeLay says about the change in Iraq. I think we could have that kind of change in the United States, and find that the United States once again is a power that listens to others around the world, and is in turn listened to, admired and respected.

WOODRUFF: But for the American people who are looking at whom to vote for in November, are they really seeing that much of a difference in the plan for Iraq going forward?

CLARK: Well, I think what the American people -- I hope what they'll understand is that George Bush has flip-flopped. I mean, he's the one who said no U.N., we'll do it all ourselves and so forth. And now out of necessity, he's been driven into the position that John Kerry and I and many others have been advocating all along: get with the international community. Take the "American- only" label off this operation. And let it work on behalf of the Iraqi people. He's been driven to that position not by preference, but by necessity. And that's a huge difference, Judy, because when you look out ahead and you say, what are the challenges -- the remaining challenges that are out there: North Korea, Iran, the broader war on terror. The American people are going to have to decide whether they want to rely on the judgment of a man who has been proven wrong time and again in foreign affairs, or whether they're going to go with a group of people whose expressions have been very clear and very consistent and have been proven right.

9. I was struck by the "flip-flop" remark too!
I love it when they use the RNC's lingo against them!

I was also really glad he didn't dismiss the VP quite so "not interested"-ly. In fact, that "group of people" he spoke of at the end, it seems to me, includes Clark himself according to the beginning of the quote ("John Kerry and I and many others") which gives me great hope he'll be involved in the cabinet, at minimum.

We *need* the General!

11. It's getting so if you leave the house you miss Clark on TV
This sounds like it was another excellent appearance. Love the way that Clark nailed Bush's intrinsic bad judgment, and not giving him any more chances to get it wrong the first time.

22. Jai has the wave length
Judy uses those little remarks to negate an interview that she doesn't like. By calling Wes a "loyal soldier" she implied that everything he had just said was a partisan statement meant to make the case for Kerry. Actually, Wes does make a case for Kerry because Clark is one of Kerry's foreign policy advisors. And following through on that line of thought, Clark is one of Kerry's foreign policy advisors because he has been correct about this whole bloody war since before it started.

Notice she didn't call Delay a "good soldier," although since DeLay is a "chicken hawk" bugman that would be rather difficult. Nevertheless, there was no framing comment at the end of the Delay interview.

There are certainly some wheels within wheels watching Judy. She is a member of the Aspen Institute or at least makes the scene there, so why give a Democrat a hard time? She also attended the session that Clark did with Madeline Albright during which he blew everyone's socks off, so Judy knows what she is hearing is vintage Clark. Curious.

I once heard her say prior to a piece on a Democratic proposal for the economy: "Well, here come those pesky Democrats."

The other think Woodruff does is begins sentences/questions with the word "but." Now it may just be a habit, however, that word tends to negate what has been said prior to the question.

She's subtle that Judy-Judy-Judy and dangerous because most viewers assume that she is a liberal. She's not.

26. And I enjoy yours!
So while Judy is a mystery, let's look at it this way. She knows how the game is played and learned it well at the WaPo. Access. What will get her access is the over riding motive behind her persona. How's that?

The tidbits of information, the invitations to dinners and the rubbing of elbows at places like the Aspen Institute are all part of her million dollar act. And those things come from both Democrats and Republicans. So what if Judy had some Democratic Party favorites that she was pushing? Watch who she gushes for....

The government--both sides--and the media are now one out of control organism. Clark refers to the entire mess as the gatekeepers, those who create the story rather than report it.

29. Gatekeepers is the proper term
Aren't you also a former reporter, or am I thinking of someone else?

In any case, gatekeepers are exactly what reporters become when they become either editors or stars in their own right.
It was something I could never stand about television journalism in J-School. I could get the Woodward and Bernstein phenom because they worked damn hard to get the story and deserved the final recognition they got - no matter that they don't serve the public anymore and keep the "good stuff" for their books. They still outted a president. And did it the old-fashioned way - with feet on the ground, phone banks, inside sources and constant fact checking.
You just rarely see that kind of thing these days. Sy Hersh is the only one who comes automatically to mind, but, heavens, he was FROM that old-school journalism.
I miss covering the beats, which amounts to a lot of schmooze, in and of itself, but I don't miss the dinners and the self-congratulatory pats on the backs.
I miss being a public servant and I miss getting the story (and getting it RIGHT).
Judy's nothing but a sell-out. A once-progressive policy wonk with high hopes who got sucked into the very mire of political waste that she once, probably, so despised. She's a shell of her former work because, if her pocketbook isn't flowing over, she perceives it as "pesky."
Judy, honey, retire already.
