2004 Platform

What does everyone think will be in the party platform at the convention? Will we see a progressive platform or at leasta few progressive ideas brought by the Kucinich, Dean, and Sharpton delegates..or will it be another bland broad platform that really doesn't point out any specific policy?

1. My guess: same ol' same ol'....

Which really disappoints me, since so many activists came out this year to support a progressive platform, and have also contacted the DNC platform committee to express their views.

Will we have a plank for a single-payer healthcare plan?

Will we have a plank calling for a full audit of the Pentagon, and a moratorium on new weapons systems until they can account for the missing $1,000,000,000,000 in their budget?

Will we have a plank for a mandatory living wage law?

Will we have a plank that ends the pointless "war on drugs"?

Will we have a plank that demands we withdraw from NAFTA, CAFTA and the FTAA, and renogotiate our trade agreements so they put human rights ahead of corporate rights?

Will we have a plank that calls for the breakup of the media monopolies that stifle debate?

For some reason, I doubt we'll see these. :(
