Gen. Wesley Clark -- "Man of the Week"
http://www.askmen.com/men/business_politics_60/69_wesley_clark.html

(excerpt)

why we like him?

A national treasure, Wesley Clark is the man, whether or not you like his politics. He has gone beyond the call of duty in Vietnam, Bosnia and Kosovo, and has been a powerful player in the Army and global politics for more than three decades. Clark is a magnetic personality whose charisma and leadership are admired by friend and foe alike.

(excerpt)

With this incredible resume, it's not hard to like Clark. He has received substantial attention ever since it was announced he was running for Democratic leader. Although he dropped out of the 2004 political race, it is widely believed the General will be in the political scene for some time, either as a potential vice president or repeat presidential candidate.

It would come as no surprise if Clark one day ends up in the oval office, since the country -- and the world as a whole -- needs more heroes like him. End excerpt.

1. I've heard Clark mentioned
as a possible Secretary of State or Defense in a Kerry cabinet. Works for me.

2. Except he can't be Def. Sec.
because the Secretary of Defense has to have been out of military service for 10 years.
And Holbrooke has the bead on SoS.
So - it will be Clark as VP.

8. Considering how he brought substance
back into the Democratic Party's foreign policy deficit (and, let's face it, real or perceived, they had one), I think he deserves to be man of the year!

But, then again, I'm admittedly biased as hell on this issue. :D

14. We'll be seeing a lot more of Clark in the next term or two...
...as long as he's a part of the Administration, I'm happy.

(I like him for Sec'y of State: I think Hal Holbrook is too old for the part, his great work as "Deep Throat" and Mark Twain notwithstanding.) :+

22. The seven degrees of Hal Holbrooke
Hal Holbrooke was Dixie Carter's love interest on Designing Women.
Designing Women was produced by the Harry Thomason and Linda Bloodworth-Thomason.
The Thomason's are friends of the Big Dog.
The Big Dog is from Arkansas.
Clark is from Arkansas.

OK... this was silly and it only took me five steps instead of seven, but, what the hey! :)

19. indeed
Women love him! Men will vote for him. He should be on the ticket or Kerry should at least annonce before the election that he wants Clark to have a prominent cabinet postition. It's a no brainer
