Why can't Clinton(s) close the deal?
The two most powerful figures in the Democratic Party, the junior Senator from New York and our last Democratic President, fell behind early to a young, black, first term Senator from Illinois and haven't been able to catch up in 40+ primary contests.

What is it about the message/experience/personality of Senator Clinton that has turned what was expected to be a triumphal march to Denver into a steel cage, death match of a primary season?

Like many here, didn't start in either the Clinton or Obama camp, was originally behind Edwards for his populist message and his fire to bring it to the entrenched power that has kept many on the outside for so long. As it became a three person race, started to pay more attention to what the other two were saying as JRE gradually fell behind. Was seriously disappointed when he dropped out before Super Tuesday, but respected his and Elizabeth's decision to suspend their campaign. Eventually, after watching/listening to their messages, chose Obama over Clinton in the TX primary/caucus.

While it would be a blessing to the party (and my own sanity) for this fight to be over, I can support anyone's decision to contest this race until it is clearly won, even to the convention. Don't know if the eventual candidate will be damaged by this primary, but know that the excitement and commitment displayed on both sides speaks well for the party as a whole and the turnout should be keeping the other side awake at night.

1. I'm confused?
Hillary gave a speech today stating that second place is winning.

3. I think your answer is in your first sentence. They are no longer the 2 most powerful figures in the
Dem party. It's clear that there has been a major power switch over to sides sympathetic to Obama on behalf of largely anonymous (at least in the media) big time players in the Dem party. Has to be.

4. Hmmm, you might want to reconsider the question...
Why can't Obama pull away?

6. Why is W still in office?
There are powers and undercurrents that have been hidden from thoughtful folks and the general, unconnected public has been betrayed by the Corporate media.

7. Doesn't typically happen in a 2-person race.
Just have to win.

5. It's really been funny watching Hillary supporters and the MSM
ask with a twinkle of feigned stupidity in their eyes "why can't Obama close the deal". He's only going up against the most popular Democratic family of this generation, he's only going up against the person with the highest name recognition of any living Democrat eligible to run for President, he is only facing off against the party machine of the party he is running for, he was only an after thought to the MSM and the Hillary campaign at the beginning of this primary season. That's all. No big deal - so what the heck is his problem? Geeze.

The story that is off interest is that he has been able to over come all those things - and do it as a black man with a funny name and big ears. That's incredible.

As for how Hillary managed to blow every advantage a Democratic candidate could ever hope for to a black man with a funny name and big ears - she need only look into the mirror to find out that answer.

9. Hillary can't "close the lead" let alone "close the deal."

She's the Loser's Loser - idol of Poor Nells everywhere, a latter day Scarlett O'Hara.

She's a hapless New York National playing against a Harlem Globetrotter ... except SHE's the joke.
