I always vote absentee anyway, but if 5 in 6 votes are going to be cast on faulty machines, shouldn't every dem be circumventing that by going the absentee ballot route?

1. yep
permanent absentee status. i commute 30 miles roundtrip, it's just easier. but now i'm finding there are other really good reasons to vote in this manner! no hanging chads or chance of hijacked or 'faulty' machines (read hijacked!) here!

3. Florida Democratic party urging all touchscreen voters to vote absentee!
The Florida Democratic party has been urging those who must vote on touchscreen machines, 15 counties, to call their elections supervisors and ask for an absentee ballot.

15 Counties using DRE Precinct Voting Method according to Florida's Secretary of State:

Broward, Charlotte, Collier, Hillsborough, Indian River, Lake, Lee, Martin, Miami-Dade, Nassau, Palm Beach, Pasco, Pinellas, Sarasota, Sumter

Click on Certified Voting Systems Lookup and then click on counties that use DRE (touchscreen)

Contact information for FL Supervisors of Elections:

7. We have optical scan here,
complete with that pesky paper trail the Republicans dislike so much.
