Someone at the Kerry campaign needs a swift kick in the ass!
Whoever is in charge of producing and distributing the signs, stickers, buttons, etc., may not be sleeping on the job, but there's some serious sleepwalking going on? Why the hell is it taking us so long to get signs, bumper stickers, buttons, etc.? At my County Democratic headquarters, we're on serious rations so we don't run out. That's crazy. Just after the convention, we should have more than we need. I've been waiting for weeks for stickers and signs, and this is such a crucial time period.

Hello, campaign, is anyone listening?

Sorry for the mini-rant, but I'm just a little frustrated :grr:

5. That would be called stepping over a dime to pick-up a nickel
The grassroots are what makes this campaign, and the public needs to percieve that Kerry/Edwards has support in their neighborhoods. When they see a Kerry-Edwards sticker on 5 cars in the office parking lot, that makes an impression.

We'll just assume they had a glitch that's been worked out, and tomorrow stuff will be flowing like the mighty Mississippi! :-)

6. Demands may be outstripping supply
A lot of people want this stuff (especially compared to 2000 when people were just more apathetic about their support).

2. Dammit me too!
I've been waiting for a month for my order from JohnKerry.com. I got extra lawn signs because the local freepers steal them. But here we sit with no signs, bumper stickers, t-shirts, or buttons.

Shit! Hard to be cheering, darn it.

3. In my nearby town it wasn't even tecnically legal
to put up yard signs until Aug. 2, three months prior to the election.

10. They need more vendors!!
I was looking for yard signs the other day and wrote to the customer service of all the major places, the dem store, john kerry.com, etc and the response I got back was that they had so many orders that they ran out of them to ship to people. The guy apologized and said he will have big shipment in 2 weeks.

The bad is we are waiting, the good is so many orders they ran out. Its not money, people are paying for this stuff, the people I work with for Kerry campaign locally lots of people gave us money for extra supplies to give out while we are doing voter reg.

With all the sign companies out there, I just can't believe they wouldn't have more made up fast. Like I started with, they need more vendors for it. If everyone goes to johnkerry.com they are overwhelmed!

14. County headquarters has signs?
I tried to call my city hall and they had no idea where a dem. headquarters was set up in the city.

I think I need to try the New Haven city hall here in CT. That's the county I live in and they should have a headquarters set up.

16. Maybe it's time we made our own!!!!
We know what they look like! They are pictures at the dem store.

Take a picture to a print shop, and get your own made.

Heck, it's possible that some of the local folks can do it CHEAPER. And you'd be supporting your local economy.

17. We did have signs printed for the Clark campaign, so it's possible
It has to say "Not authorized or endorsed by any campaign", but we did that, and it didn't look bad. We were getting ready for the state DEM convention in Orlando. We didn't have enough signs, so I had a local printer make some. It only took them about 5 days to crank out some 250 signs, and once they were started, they could have given us a 1,000 or more within a week. It was a total success, because on the first night of the convention, CLARK owned the place, and the perception was due to a couple hundred signs people were carrying that we put sticks on. They became a status symbol.

However, the Kerry campaign seems adamant about having the union made logo on it, which is fine. But when you're not producing at the most crucial time in the election, something needs to change.
Also, we have to be careful not to go against campaign funding laws, which are about as clear as mud. Bottom line, if we have to we can, but I'd rather see the campaign get their shit together. I am 100% behind the ticket, but if they can't get this stuff done, it's a little disconcerting.
