Quotes from Richard Morrison at the Austin DFA meet-up tonight.
I did not realize that he was not supported by the DNC, at least financially. This surprised me. I found this post at the blog, which I found interesting. We have donated to him to help him beat back the bad bug man.
SNIP.. "At the meetup in Austin, the Dean Dozen candidate Richard Morrison was the featured speaker. He talked about his race against Tom Delay in Houston. He said the national party did not want to support him because everyone loses to Tom Delay. They thought it was suicide to run against someone who usually wins by 30 points.

Morrison said "everyday when I get up, I say Thank God for Howard Dean. The DNC wouldn't support me, but Dean said I don't care if you have a chance, the democrats need to run in every race!"

For Texans, it would be such sweet revenge to defeat Delay, after the way he redistricted our state."

Now Morrison is within 10 points of DeLay. Here is his website.

And here is his Taking on Tom DeLay site.

1. How long has DeLay been in congress?
I know that he was majority leader for the last 6 years, at least, but I don't know much beyond that.

3. The DCCC
has a limited amount of resources and they don't want to send money to a district where they don't have much of a chance of winning. There are other organizations that take up these races.

6. The Daily Kos is also asking people to support some candidates
with slim chances, as well as more likely candidates.

8. I know about Kos. I just was not aware of others but DFA.
I have been amazed at the fundraising for such a new organization, not begun until March this year. DFA donates to the candidates, plus many of us donate both to the org and the canidates.

I like the way he supports those with little chance. There are 5 Florida Dean Dozen, and they seem to have a decent chance.

Dana Rasch in Volusia County is moving right along, and I think Rob McKenna is doing well in Hillsborough County.

Our local congressional candidate is facing his primary on August 31, I think that is the date. We have our yard sign out, and his unpaid manager made shirts for us. They have his pic on the back, and they really get good attention.

7. I'm a consultant
to a new company called underdog politics. Its run by lots of ex dean folks. They are doing two races in Colorado and one in Oklahoma this year.

Democracy for America is helping out some others. Ken Christensen, a fundraiser in DC has a PAC that supports campaigns in non-targeted races.

5. 1984?! Damn.
It kind of fits. Since he is trying to be big brother to the fucking country. I always thought that he was called bugman because he looked like a bug, not because he exterminated them.
