Has Bush counted attorneys lately?
Back in the late 70's there were about 250,000 attorneys in California alone. Don't know how many there are now. There is always an overabundance of attorneys. But attorneys generally vote.

1. here's one and I vote (in MA) . . .
:bounce:

uuummmmm, California is the world's 5th economy. That, together w/ its population perchance have a need for a large number of attorneys?! Btw, are you aware that California has the most difficult bar exam of any other state which is, by and of itself, a screening device?

As for GWBush, he loves lawyers. After all, he tried getting into University of Texas, School of Law but was resoundingly REJECTED! Yup. Twas his lousy low C average at Yale (legacy admission) that most likely didn't help him, together, most probably, w/ lousy LSATs. After that, Harvard B School was another legacy admission . . . nothing like having prior family alums to hand you "Affirmative Action" for rich white boys.

All that dissing of lawyers by Dumbya is political rhetoric and pads his back pocket w/ corporate gratuities and back-slapping by corporate lawyers who HATE plaintiffs' lawyers. Gosh, I wonder why?

Ah-ha! the boy is so damn full of dichotomies, contradictions, and hypocrisies that it's too difficult to enumerate em all.

Here's another one here: "Everybody needs to have a good abrogado."

3. Just look in the yellow pages under attorneys in any city...
...phone directory and it becomes obvious that there are a lot of attorneys, I'm guessing 3.0 to 4.0 million across the country. The top 250 law firms in the country have over 100,000 attorneys working for them, but I would also think that half are republican and half are democrat with a smattering of independents thrown in.

4. okay . . . fine . . . but why?
If it's as you say, then ask why? To apply a strictly economy structure to it, then it's got to be cost-benefit efficient, correct? Of course, otherwise there would not be that number you cited, correct?

One final word -- it takes clients to sustain lawyers, not the other way around. That, despite the political rhetoric as spewed by Dumbya and his drones.

Have a nice day! :)
