In my email, I think it's a great idea. Easy to do too. Just get some business card blanks and print a sheet at a time.
A Kerry "Get Involved" card is a business card, with the number of
your local Kerry campaign office, and a set of links people can use
to sign up for meetups, get started volunteering, or donate to the
campaign. A business card is small enough to keep some in your
wallet or purse, but large enough to give people the information they
need to get hooked up with the campaign. They're a perfect adjunct
to wearing a Kerry button - when someone says "Nice button!" you can
give them a card, so they can get buttons and a yard sign at the
campaign office. And you can point out the links, and tell them how
much the campaign depends on its volunteers and contributors. They
are a very effective tool, they're inexpensive, and easy to hand out
to people.
I've put together a Word file, that will print the kind of 10-Up
business card blanks you can get at Office Depot. All you have to do
is fill in the address and phone number of your local Kerry campaign
office, and print them out. You can also get them printed and cut at
a copy shop or printer. I had a thousand of these cards printed a
little more than a month ago, and I only have three left! I've given
stacks of them to fellow volunteers, passed them out on the opening
day of Farenheit 9/11, and given them away at meetups. So they have
been very useful.
You can find the Word file at:

DNC, or any other political entity. They're completely volunteer-
based.
