Kucinich more visible in Congress
http://www.onnnews.com/Global/story.asp?S=2137722

Democratic Rep. Dennis Kucinich believes the silver lining to his failed long-shot presidential campaign is that his higher profile could help him be more effective in Congress.

Political analysts are skeptical.

Kucinich, of Cleveland, formally ended his candidacy last month, announcing in the days before the Democratic National Convention that he endorsed John Kerry.

Even before that announcement, Kucinich began curtailing his campaign, making fewer stops across the country in exchange for making more speeches on the U.S. House floor.

"I'm as active as ever, but having more of an impact after having been a candidate for president," Kucinich said.

"My campaign has really strengthened my hand inside the House of Representatives, both with Democrats and Republicans alike," he said.

1. They will not admit it, but I think even Repugs respect Kucinich.
He is a class act..Never did he use repugnant tactics in his campaign..He was a tireless campaigner for his ideas with good sound arguments...no, with this Congress, he will not win the day.But should his ideas have a chance to be heard before the American people, there he will win one for the people...
His success will depend upon the Progressive Caucus..He should be their leader for no other member has his persuaviness...There he can launch his ideas..
What of this new Democratic Progressive caucus trying to influence the party..? An alliance with Dean, Jesse Jackson,others..
William Pitt recently wrote now Kerry is the party leader. The progressive leaders of Dean and Kucinch have served their role and time for us to move on..
William..Don't agree...Kucinich will be our protector against the special interests...Without the likes of Kucinich to bolster good government, I will be a drop out...Some one to truly trust.Such leaders are rare..
Dennis Kucinich will continue to be my shining knight.... Nothing has changed on that score. Kucinich will be there to fight the good fight whether it is from the scandalous connections of the Chimp or the likely sell outs from a potential Kerry Administration..
ps- anyone see Alexander Cockburns' column in this weeks "Nation"...Worthy reading..
But as Pollit said...At least Kerry "believes in the possibility of evolution."

2. Speaking of which--
The Congressional Progressive Caucus really needs to update their website. We should be all over any piece of legislation they are sponsoring like pigs on shit.

3. Speaking of which , Kucinich has been a very effective in Congess.
Thanks to Dennis...The House Democratic caucus voted in the majority against the Chimp's war and against bad trade deals...you consider Kucinich's ability to sway the vote in the Democratic House caucus, DK has been batting close to 100%...
To sway members like Tom Delay and the rest of the Repug clones, it would take a computer programmer with an ability to reprogram the repug chips in a Repug brain.
