Poll question: Where did you first see the Kerry-bashing "Swift Boat" ad?
I'm testing my theory that the ad got most of its traction from being aired on news networks, and not from being aired as a commercial.

1. On CNN
The bastards are getting the word out by putting up a controversial ad they know their shills in Big Media will be all too happy to propagate. They've spent less than $200,000 and are getting national attention. Thanks, CNN! :grr:

2. Other
I'd heard about the ad before, but the first time I saw--or rather, heard--the ad was on the Al Franken Show yesterday when he played it and then factually shredded it.

4. The problem is that the news networks AREN'T shredding it,
Edited on Fri Aug-06-04 08:29 AM by elperromagico
factually or otherwise. I was watching MSNBC yesterday when I first saw the ad. They had one of Kerry's "accusers" on along with Jim Rassman. I swear that Rassman got in maybe 15 words compared to the other guy, who got about triple the airtime. He spent that airtime further bashing Kerry.

They're simply airing the lies and making no attempt to refute them.

3. of course.
That was the game play long before the ad was finished. everyone knows at this point just how much the networks are in bed with Rove.

My theory is it's either out of fear or as I seen a post here yesterday, a son of one of these swift boat low lifes said his father and family received flat screen tv's and other goodies regularly from Rove.

Limbaugh played it and I heard Kerry get 'Maxed' as in Clelland.

And Max is still getting it:

7. Earlier this year there were some grumblings....
now is the time for Moveon and Moore to go into who these "veterans" really are.

8. These are the same people who trashed McCain and Cleland,
Edited on Fri Aug-06-04 09:39 AM by elperromagico
are they not? I'm deeply amused by the idea of these veterans bashing their fellow soldiers in favor of people like George "Champagne Squadron" Bush and Saxby "Bad Knee" Chambliss.

Who's betraying who here?

11. I followed a link from DU
Not sure if it is the same ad or not but the one I went to was disgusting so I am pretty sure it is the same one.
