Encounter With Huge Motorcycle Guy Regarding My Kerry Bumper Sticker
I'm on my way to the store this afternoon, and I'm stuck at a red light. I'm about four vehicles back, in the far right-hand lane. I happen to notice some movement through my rear view mirror, and it takes me a second to realize that there is a guy on a motorcycle squeezing through on the right between cars and the curb -- very illegal, by the way. I figured he was just going up to turn at the light, but he stops next to my car.

I look out my passenger side window and see that he's saying something to me, and motioning at me wildly.

"Great," I thought. "What the hell did I do to piss this burly dude off?"

I turn my radio down and reach to roll down the window and I hear the guy. "... great sticker bumper sticker. I like your bumper sticker. John Kerry's a really great guy!"

I'm kinda stunned, and I just kind of nod and say, "Yeah... thanks!"

I live in a conservative area of a swing state (Michigan) and I've seen more Kerry stickers around here than I saw Gore OR Clinton stickers when they were running. Lots of Dopey/Grumpy '04 stickers, too, but that's expected.

Just thought I'd let you all know!

All the little anecdotal stories make me feel better. It's what is really going on out in the country.

28. Wolfowitz should be "Spitty" or "Phlegmy" or something like that.
... in tribute to his comb-spitting tendency.

On Wolfowitz's tombstone, it'll say, "He spit on his comb!"

Wes made me believe we could take our country back. He is an inspiring leader. I hope he can play an important role in the coming kerry administration

30. Thank You...that's my all time favorite pic of Wes.
:loveya: Wes Clark is an amazing man. I'm hoping he's part of the Kerry administration too....Secretary of State?

I just received a letter from him yesterday...from Wes Pac and he was off to Michigan to campaign for Kerry and THEN from his letter>>>>>>>>Only a week and a half after my trip to Michigan, I’ll be making a swing through South Dakota, Washington State, and Alaska to campaign with two of the Democratic Party’s finest Senators -- Tom Daschle and Patty Murray -- as well as one of our strongest new candidates, former Alaska Governor Tony Knowles.

He's working his behind off for the campaign and motivates ME to do the same.

14. Great news!
I just got my package from Kerrygear.com. I put a Kerry/Edwards button on my purse and a sticker on my car. Like you, I live in a pathetically Republican area. So far, I've had 5 people comment positively on my button. I've asked each of them if they want one. They were all thrilled that I had extras in my purse to give them. Today at the grocery store, a woman commented on my bumper sticker, I gave her one and a button which she promptly put on her shirt. I passed her in the grocery store and she mentioned that two people told her that they were supporting Kerry. I gave her a few more buttons to pass out. The buttons cost me something like 70 cents apiece. I only ordered 20 and in less than a week, I've depleted half of my supply. Time to reorder.

18. I was about to start a thread about my experience today
when I saw yours. I live in freeperish northern Indiana, and every day I find more and more Kerry signs in yards, bumper stickers, etc. The Bush-Cheney crap is almost non-existent these days. But the best thing was driving a friend home today in one of the expensive suburbs of this town and seeing Kerry-Edwards signs in the front yards. I think I saw at least five, and other homes had nothing in their yards, except for local stuff. I was completely flabbergasted. I live near downtown in a historic neighborhood populated by college professors and quasi-hip professionals. . . I expect to see pro-Kerry signs there. But to see them in these somewhat rural affluent subdivisions. .. joy!

26. I had the same experience.
On my move from SC to CA somewhere in TX or NM a biker dude gave me the big thumbs up on my yard signs I had taped to my minivan windows.

I regularly give support to fellow dems all the time. We all should do this. What's amazing to me as how shocked people are when you honk and give the thumbs up. It's fun.

27. Back in the fifties, even the sixties, people would honk at

people from a state where they'd lived and ask what city, reply "Oh, we're from X" etc.

It was nice, like honking at other Kerry supporters is nice. :-)
