smearboat vets retracts retraction
The following statement from Swift Boat Veterans for Truth concerns an article appearing in morning edition of the BOSTON GLOBE, written by GLOBE reporter and author of the official Kerry-Edwards campaign book, Mike Kranish.

"Captain George Elliott describes an article appearing in today’s edition of the BOSTON GLOBE by Mike Kranish as extremely inaccurate and highly misstating his actual views. He reaffirms his statement in the current advertisement paid for by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, Captain Elliott reaffirms his affidavit in support of that advertisement, and he reaffirms his request that the ad be played.

“Additional documentation will follow.

this is a fLashing drudge report

9. Nope, it's at LEAST a triple back flip-flop.
Apparently this guy CAMPAIGNED for Kerry in MA eight years ago.

So he supported, then told stories about, then retracted said stories, then retracted said retraction of said story....

WHEW!

What is the clinical definition of schizophrenia?

6. Remember this is a guy who effusively praised Kerry in '69 and
stood by him in the 90s. Then he flip flopped. Then flipped back again, and now he's flopped back the other way.

My guess: he got a call from the Nixon scumbag O'Neill.

Question: by signing that affidavit and then publicaly avowing it later - could that be a legal problem for Elliot? Maybe O'Neill raised that specter to get him to fall back in line with the rest of the frauds.

7. What is so funny is that the Globe article QUOTES Elliot
Edited on Fri Aug-06-04 01:46 PM by Feanorcurufinwe
and the SmearBoatVets statement simply puts words in his mouth - no quote. And these dim bulbs are too stupid to realize that most people can tell the difference.

10. Sorry, doesn't matter ...
... Drudge can attack the journalist all he wants. Their credibility and his is further damaged.

Why do the mainstream media listen to this self-hating shill? You would of thought they learned there lesson after the intern lie.

Geez. I think we should email everyone at CNN and MSRNC and Washington Post and ask them to boycott this a-hole. How many lies and smears does he have to get caught with?

17. Sorry but what you are saying is not true.
Rush Limbaugh said it, but - it's a lie.

Yes, Kranish has a book coming out about the campaign. No, it's not in any way, shape or form 'the official Kerry-Edwards campaign book'.

14. Anybody see Atrios' or Kos' stuff on this?
I'm not savvy enough to pull it together here, but if I'm reading it right, one of the liars, Larry Thurlow, claims that Kerry's boat was not under enemy fire. However, the curious thing is, Thurlow also received a Bronze Star that day for his heroics in fighting the enemy.

http://atrios.blogspot.com/

Another guy who appeared in the ad, Adrian Lonsdale, had a different take on Kerry in 1996 before Kerry decided to run for president. Back then he said, "As far as I was concerned, the war was won over there in that part for that period. And it was mainly won because of the bravado and the courage of the young officers that ran the boats, the SWIFT boats and the Coast Guard cutters and Senator Kerry was no exception. He was among the finest of those."

http://www.dailykos.com/

Maybe someone with more skill can pull this together so we can blast the media with this.

18. Methinks Captain Elliot sailed into a minefield
And didn't know it until his boat blew up.

I'll bet if it's true that he's retracted his retraction, that somebody put the fear of lawyers into him, but it's too late now; he's toast.

Are the swift boat liars paying paying each of these guys to attack Kerry?
