That district actually went for Gore in 2000 and above all Representive Tanner is well liked there as well. Oh another interesting thing about Tanner is, he was in F-911, ya know the congressguy who was telling Moore he was in the navy with a thick southern accent, thats Tanner, hes
pretty conservative for a democrat but he gets the job done I guess.

1. It's actually a good thing that guy is running.
It shows people how sick some of these Rethugs are.

I just think some of us are worried about nothin, Tanner has been elected to that district for a while, hes not my kind of democrat but eh rather a conservative blue dog dem than a right wing zealot like Mr. Hart.

5. I'm probably to the left of most people here but if the people like him
and he does a good job I have no problem either. This guy will make him look even better. Imagine the "publicity" the Thugs will get if this guy gets to run for the GOP. Haaaahaaahaaa

6. I am far to the left too but I understand being in a conservative district
That the democratic party cant run people who are always on the same page as the national party but in other areas we can run people who are beyond the party platform on the left too, I'd rather the rural districts of America elect people like Tanner, and others than fundies, because though they may not always be on our side, they are sometimes and sometimes is better than never or rarely.

4. Worry? Nah. Let the R's wear their sheets and hoods.
It shows the ugly roots of the neo-con movement for what it actually is.

9. I was watching the Memphis news last night
and they were showing all of Hart's comments about inferior races, and I said "Well at least this guy shows the true color of the GOP instead of hiding it behind religious wedge issues." I had my conservative leaning friend actually go and change parties today.
