Rep. Rodney Alexander appears to have switched to GOP.

At this link, it shows that Rep. Alexander, a conservative Democrat, has filed today to run as a Republican. Louisiana Republicans have courted him to switch parties, and it appears to have happened.

4. hmmm...
and it happened the day after another Democrat filed to run. If she had not filed yesterday, Alexander would have just waited until after the election to switch parties.

One other DINO worth watching is Jim Marshall in Georgia's 3rd district.

5. This is what happens when we dont tear down and rebuild.
I will start by saying that I strongly support conservative Democrats winning in conservative districts BUT only because our party doesnt seem to want to risk getting blown away a few 2 year election cycles (transition pains from rebuilding) by totally trashing the current platform (center-left/moderate attitude)and starting to represent the poor & lower middle class plus taking a strong stand for civil libertys and human rights.

The 2 year myopia is killing us.

Anyway as long as we are intent on little bloodlettings instead of a full blown sacrifice then we can expect to be weak when it comes to passing anything we care about . We really dont need to worry about Kerry or Edwards vetoing good legislation or evidence that they will not urge congress to pass any important breakthroughs because the votes wont be there anyway.

The state Democratic partys protect all our worthless incumbents (a bunch of fresh blood would be 100 times better than what we have now) when we control redistricting at the expense of creating many more fair districts that lean progressive in voters so the end result is we have only 191 districts that Gore won despite Gores national win. That creates a need for conservative members to begin with but what really kills us is our (us Democrats in the collective sense)is our stubborn refusal to actualy fight (and I frankly think our party and leaders from head to toe doent even believe in what we believe in anyway)and stand for a progressive agenda.

So we are now back to the 1994 congressional numbers yet again. And its our fault. Not Naders fault . Not even the countrys fault. Our fault. As soon as we realize it , we might just take responsibility and actualy do something about it.

15. The Lieberman lynch-mob strikes again
Excuse me, but if you actually bothered to look at the FACTS, you'd know better than to lump Lieberman in with Zell and Alexander.

Here's a question for you -- can you name a single high-profile, test-of-party-loyalty vote where Lieberman has voted differently from the majority of the Senate Democratic caucus? (By the way, if you're thinking of the IWR, you'd be WRONG -- most Democrats in the Senate voted the way Lieberman did.)

Here's another question -- can you name a single Republican candidate that Lieberman has endorsed?

The fact is, Lieberman's voting record is nothing like Miller's or Alexander's.

10. John Breaux had the most damning criticism..

Breaux, called Alexander's switch an underhanded maneuver that "effectively prevented the people of his district from having a choice."

"Rodney is a confused politician who has placed loyalty at the very bottom of his priorities," Breaux said.

13. If true, I hope we can defeat him in November....
These are not the times to betray our Party. It would be sweet justice to see him defeated. This election is too important to put up with that kind of crap.
