Any hope that McCain might actually stand up to Shrub and his political hacks was obviously wishful thinking.

I wouldn't doubt that they will continue to try to turn this into how Kerry should call off his (not really his) 527's and Chimpy will do the same. Well, sure because * still has 4 weeks where he can spend as much as he wants while Kerry's would come out of his $75 million for the entire campaign.

2. I don't understand it either
If ANYONE treated me the way Bush treated McCain in the 2000 primaries, I'd NEVER go to bat for them. There's gotta be more to this little story.

5. Well, could it be going after the 527's. I'm sorry, I'm thinking
logically and that is always the worst way to analyze * but I still thought McCain might have some contact with reality.

We can only hope it will backfire and McCain will say something against the group slamming Kerry but I'm sure the completely scripted * campaign will try to make sure that can't happen.

6. This was scheduled long ago. I heard this even before
McCain spoke out the other day. I think this is great timing. I think this will work to Kerry's advantage. McCain is bound to be asked again and again about the Swiftvets.

7. John McCain is not his own man.
He is not independent, he is, in fact, Dependant. Dependant on a political party that abuses him. Now matter what the republican party does to him or to others, he cannot leave. Even after they went after his wife and young daughter, he stayed. Even after Bush spread an ugly rumor that his daughter was the result of a relationship with a black woman, a racist red flag in the south, trying to slime him and degrade his own child by exploiting peoples' racism, he continues to stand by Bush. He is an enabler and the psychology of it all controls him. John McCain is a pathetic man who has failed to live up to the possibilities of greatness that he may have once promised.
