Big lies, little lies ... all lies ... *'s lie about his visit to NH
So all week before * came to NH his visit was played up as his opportunity to "recognize a local volunteer." "Gee, what a great guy that * is," thinks the average sheeple ... well, here's an article from a local paper today:

http://www.fosters.com/august_2004/08.07.04/news/ex_0807c.asp

Volunteer may not have been honored

STRATHAM — It’s unclear whether a Barrington man invited to President Bush’s campaign picnic to be recognized for his volunteerism received that recognition Friday.

Joel Sherburne learned in a phone call from the White House Thursday morning that the president intended to honor his service, Sherburne said that afternoon.

In addition, the White House had announced earlier this week that Bush would honor a local volunteer at the event.

On Friday, the president gave a long stump speech at the farm of Doug and Stella Scamman, but didn’t mention any volunteers by name.

<snip>

The New Hampshire communications director for the Bush campaign told the press at the event that she would provide them with information afterward about any local volunteers recognized by the president.

The communications director had no information about any volunteers, when called later Friday. She said she would ask a White House spokesperson to call Foster’s with a comment but no call was received by Friday night.

* is just such an asshole.

3. "You can fool some of the people some of the time but
you can't fool all of the people all of the time."

Some wise person (who must have known George) said that.

4. And we won't be fooled again
Or something like that. :eyes:

I feel bad for the volunteer. As much as I detest Bush, I'm sure the idea of being recognized by the President was making this guy's day. What a bummer to be ignored like that.

10. I KNOW this volunteer
Joel is not a Bush volunteer (that I know of), rather he has worked tirelessly for decades raising money to buy ambulances, emergency equipment and so on for Barrington, New Hampshire. He is an EMT so it doesn't surprise me that Bush snubbed him, EMT's and firefighters are only good for his photo-ops, not for funding or recognition.

13. Now THAT is an EXCELLENT idea!
Imagine John Kerry saying, "I'm here today to honor the man the my opponent ignored." Then again, the guy is probably not eager to be used again.

Even better, Kerry can talk about his budget for first responders.
