I have a serious problem with people who can't admit their mistakes
Is it me?

I can't imagine any human believing that he is so flawless that he can't be mistaken on any given issue.

Yet the right wing seems to lap it up.

Bush calls changing one's mind "flip flopping".

I call it evolution.

3. My own views have evolved over the years
I would assume any reasonable adult grows and evolves. "Flip-flopping" denotes maturity to me.

6. Honestly, I don't trust anyone whose views remain rigid
throughout their life. As knowledge develops, beliefs should develop as well. Rigidity of beliefs throughout ones life suggests, IMHO, a lack of curiosity and intellectual growth. (aside) Witness Dubya.

When I'm 40, I will probably believe in most of the same things I do today. I will probably still believe in a fair deal for all Americans... and for all human beings. But I suspect my views will be more nuanced based on what I have experienced in forty years of life.

If that makes me a flip-flopper, so be it. :D

7. A person should never be ashamed to own he has been in the wrong

"A person should never be ashamed to own he has been in the wrong, which
is but saying, in other words, that he is wiser today than he was
yesterday". A. Pope (1688-1744) "Thoughts on Various Subjects", 1706,

8. You're asking two different questions at the same time
One is about a person's ability to admit mistakes, and the other is your ability to understand or accept it.

9. a coworker and boss is like that, and they are both right-wngers.
So, this does seem to be a character quirk with right wingers, at least anecdotally.
