26 new voters registered today!
20 Dems, 4 unaffiliated and 2 Repugs. I guess you could say that this is no great accomplishment in Montgomery County, Maryland but many of the people we registered were new to the country and they hate Bush! had a few sneers from skinheads but even they kept their distance and didn't say too much. I hope you all are receiving similar results.

1. Way to go, irk!

I volunteered at a Back-to-school event sponsored by a large African-American church in our Oak Cliff area this afternoon.

What a great thing they were doing! Health exams, new clothes and school supplies for these kids, and free sack lunches for everyone.

We manned a voter registration table, and a few of us walked the line as everyone waited to get inside.

We got 54 new ones (16 personally for me). And several of the folks I asked said outright, "We gotta get Bush OUT!" (Testify sistah!) One Latino lady said she still wasn't sure who to vote for, so I pulled out the scroll on my True Majority pen, and showed her the amounts. Mentioned that under Kerry, the military spending, healthcare, and amounts spent on our children would be much closer than under Bush, who's spending everything on his stupid wars. She said that helped her to decide.

Made some new friends and had a very fulfilling day.

Cheers! We rule! :D
