6. Blitzer just dripping with slime...
Airs the "swift boat scumbags" commercial, then really reaches back and brings up the medals. Blitzer is such a loathsome, skanky whore.

7. Swiftboat ....
Clark. These folks could have come out at any time. This is politically motivated. There's jealousy within the military. The facts speak for themselves. His awards speak for themselves. If the Navy had any questions they wouldn't have given him the medals. Every Veteran has an opinion about Nam. I have mine and Kerry has his.

Can Kerry win your home state of Arkansas? Clark...Yes, he can.

Again, HE WAS AWESOME! :bounce:

12. that's IT?
did he mention the pug connections like Ann Lewis?

did he call it POLITICAL PORNOGRAPHY, like Mike Barnicle, of all people

he does NOT impress me as being quick on his feet in these situations, OR armed with trenchant little STATS/Factoids, like the pugs, even though those are mostly LIES

where's our BLASTFAX memo organization?

ducking head

19. He did mention the repub connections
but briefly. He wanted to turn the discussion FROM the ad and TOWARD Sen. Kerry's career of service, which is in keeping with the optimistic tone of the campaign. I think it's better to disregard the ad, as all reasonable people have done, and to return to the message of the convention, which was Camelot-esque.

24. exCEPT that the MEDIA is now DRIVING this
just like they always do the sleaziest, most loathesome tactics from the thug regime

if the question is put to them, they MUST respond with STRENGTH, then ALWAYS ALWAYS ask why the media don't DEMAND that Bush release his records concerning his REFUSAL to take a flight physical for TWO YEARS

dems are WIIMPS

27. It's dead in the water
and the media is just waiting for the next narrative. It's masturbation at this point.

And the questions about chimpster will happen in due time. Let this thing work itself out. You don't think Camp Kerry is incompetent any more than I do.

32. Nope. That's Dean's job.
Let the Doctor use the bludgeon and the frontal attack. Wes the soldier is also a statesman--and while his opponents are lulled and distracted by his easygoing ways and big toothy grin, he's slipped the shiv betwixt their ribs and they don't even know they're killed until they see all the blood on the floor.

Leave 'em alone. These guys know exactly what they're doing.

29. Yeah, I would have liked a much specific, hard hitting answer...
Edited on Sun Aug-08-04 01:15 PM by Gloria
1) didn't serve on boat 2) doctor was the doctor 3) "political motivations" could have been filled out with huge donor connections
4) Army gave out the medals....expanded into "impugning the military and all those who hold medals" by this attack.....

On the other hand, that could reignite the whole thing if a high level military ex-Presidential candidate was to be that direct. Bring out more Republican military apologists.....Right now, we've got Tommy Franks saying Kerry is fit to command....let that stew awhile!!

Overall, looked tired and actually in the pre-interview shots, very tense....

33. Gotta disagree. There's only so much time on commercial cable tv
between commercial breaks, and the mission is usually to steer ideas where you want to go, and few can do that better than Clark did, and routinely does. I think this was some of the most effective dem tv minutes over the past few weeks.

He should not go to afterburners unless Leslie (or that guy on Faux that time) push things toward insult. From here to Nov 2, those who can should do like Wes did here: turn the bs aside, sometimes with mild derision ('jealousy'), punch our guy's points across as much (and as 'moderately') and as often as possible, because the next several weeks are when the image projection of an acceptable replacement for Shrub must take place. To the many voters who will make up their minds between now and Nov. 2, that is.

Of course, I just love Clark's style, so I have my prejudice. However, General McPeak was really good on This Week this am. Excellent, actually.

him from day one (I was ABB, and now support Kerry because he is the democratic candidate). But I would love to see this guy EVERY DAY out there taking our message to the people... sigh.... sigh... I have always loved BRAINY men but this guy has it all.

9. Wolfman Jack is asking his usual snide questions:
Edited on Sun Aug-08-04 12:36 PM by PCIntern
Can Kerry carry YOUR (Clark's) Home state of Arkansas?

Sneering all the while...

After Kerry trounces *, God willing, we'll all be treated to four or eight years of pointed questions directed at our Democratic President...it won't ever stop. They'll state that they were probably too easy on *, so they'll toughen up for Kerry.

Gasbags...

11. Not getting into the details rebutting that damned ad, which Wolfie
just happened to give more free air time to....

Sticking to the line that the "Army gave him the medals" so stuff it....

Not really questioning that these guys didn't serve with Kerry in the same boat or that the doctor is bogus....Keeping to the broader context of the Army giving medals and political motivation...and now, how throwing the medals was part of the broader debate...many different ways/opinions...He didn't throw away his, but he doesn't blame Kerry.

Earlier, spoke to the "unravelling of Al-Qaeda" now.....I didn't really like that too much....he, of course, focussed yet again on how Iraq diverted efforts from orignally going after Al-Qaeda, but don't like to plant a seed that Al-Qaeda is being "unravelled"--too easy to be picked up by Bushco as proof that Al-Qaeda is now being "destroyed" because of Bush's wonderful efforts..........

You're right - they keep showing that fricking ad over and over and over.

They oughta keep asking for just one person to step forward and say that he served with * in Alabama. just ONE.

But they won't becasue they're s**theads.

14. Really excellent performance, I thought
He seemed so assured, clear, and on message.

I have always thought he was the only one who could discuss the problem with Iraq effectively; now I think he is the only one who can talk about the terror warnings with any kind of credibility, too.

His take on the swift boat stuff was interesting because of Clark's response to Vietnam, which couldn't have been more different from Kerry's. And he looked great, too. ;-)

18. He gave all the right answers
On the Terra Chart, al Qaeda, Swiftvets, and even Kerry's post-war protesting.

Said Kerry was right to fight for his beliefs and convictions.

One thing about Clark is that he puts a different perspective on things that doesn't sound canned. No talking points from him. I think it really makes people look up and think.

when he brought up the subject of jealousy in the military re the Swift Boat liars? And then said something like "I've been there..." Take that, Hugh Shelton!

And here's the best perspective yet on the SBSwine, courtesy of The Comedy Store's Argus Hamilton by way of The Albuquerque Sunday Journal:

"John Kerry was ripped by Vietman War vets in a new ad Thursday. You can't make it up. They say he burned a village, slaughtered animals, shot a fleeing teenager and then falsely told Congress that U.S. troops committed atrocities in Vietnam."

21. But wait...there's MORE: If you order now
Wolf will send you a free beard trimmer which you may use on your face or nether regions.

These questions about how long the terra alert will continue are really stupid...how the hell are they supposed to answer questions like that even if this were all legit? What are they supposed to say: we'll knock all this off on Nov 29th...

Now Wolf is asking how could they possibly stop a suicide bomber. Hey, like no kidding. He must sit up nights thinking about these things.

"Do you walk to work or do you carry your lunch?"

92% NO

But rmember, as Wolfie sez, this ain't no scientific poll. See, a scientific poll would show the opposite...

HA!
