Aug. 8 (Bloomberg) -- Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry has widened his lead over President George W. Bush in New Jersey to 20 percentage points, a poll conducted for the Newark Star-Ledger newspaper shows.

Fifty-two percent of the 624 registered voters surveyed said they would choose Kerry, a four-term Massachusetts senator, if the election held now, and 32 percent would pick Bush. Three percent said they would vote for independent candidate Ralph Nader or a third-party candidate, according to the Star-Ledger.

1. Oh man, oh man, oh man, oh man. I truly believe this will happen. If
bush* isn't allowed to pull some illegal business out of his ass, and if we can keep the elections honest, we've got it in the bag!

But those are two big 'ifs'.

7. Illegal Business
I've heard it said that Bush couldn't win this election legally. The only way he could or would win by any long shot was by cheating.

Personally, it wouldn't surprise me all that much, but I'm curious at how and in what ways you think he might cheat.

I don't want to be surprised in case it does happen.

Cyn:)

So this lead doesn't surprise me too much.

5. Now if
at the end of October, Kerry is up in most national polls by at least 12 to 20 percent, I could almost be convinced * wouldn't steal it.

6. you are indeed correct
and most exciting is your area, which is republican.

BTW, a former student used to intern for Scott Garrett. He was quite enthusiastic about his job, which called for him to resolve issues for constituents.

9. Yeah, someone on Hardball said NJ was a swing state
and Kerry only had it by 2 points.

WTF?

11. For a while there might have been the McGreevy fatigue factor
But I thought that New Jersey would eventually come around.

8. Dang! I was hoping to see Kerry/ Edwards campaign in this
state. That's the problem with living in NY or NJ. It's no contest and so no one bothers to show up.
