Jello Biafra's lazy accusation that Kerry is nothing more than Lurch
I like a lot of what Jello says and the DK catalog of tunes and all that, but he was on AAR this morning (Morning Sedition) and said a couple things I find lame.

He said Nader had nothing to do with Gore losing in 2000. BS. Secondly, he thinks Kerry is nothing more than a guy who looks like Lurch and has "nothing to say"...

Hey, Jello. Shut up unless you do some homework before getting on the air.

1. I've lost all respect for Jello....
Actually I did long ago. I'm sure he's just upset that he can't come up with a catchy rhyme for Kerry/Edwards. For the past 15 years every presidential election he's been able to rhyme "Gore" with "Nobody to vote for!" and has repeated that line ad nauseum in every single interview or speech he gives.

When you see a guy several times and read interviews with him and he repeats the same tired lines and slogans over and over again, then you quickly realize he's got nothing more to offer than the people he rails against.

2. Hey, we all love Jello, but...
... if he thinks Kerry is just another guy, he's got another thing coming. Don't be fooled by the fronts Presidential candidates must put up to be competitive on Election Day - Kerry is one of the good guys.

3. So....how DID Jello find out about IranContra and BCCI and illegal wars in

Central America?

I submit, Mr. Biafra, that you would be as ignorant today as most 11 year olds about the BFEE if it hadn't been for Kerry's investigations and the exposing of more government corruption by him than ANY other lawmaker in modern history.

Kerry's efforts helped END three wars. How many wars have YOU helped to end, Jello? You are an INSULT to Dennis Kucinich and have not a CLUE what Dennis is all about if you continue to espouse your ignorant views of Kerry.

4. I actually saw him speak in 2002 with a liberal/socialist friend
I think the consensus was, "Well, that wasn't very inspiring." It's quite hard to get anything done when all you do is complain about how things aren't perfect. No matter though. Jello is at heart just a gadfly. Or annoying. Whichever, really.

5. Exactly....at this point he isn't even preaching to the choir....
I think at this point he just talks to be able to convince himself more than anyone else. There are plenty of gadflys out there who do it with intelligence and humor and who at least propose SOME solutions or pragmatism. Jello is at this point just a sad, bitter man trying to convince himself that he's still relevant. Iv'e heard way too many liberal friends offer up the same description as you after seeing him speak.

6. He should go back to being Eric Boucher
Jello Biafra was great in, say, 1983 at the July 4 Lincoln Memorial "Rock Against Reagan" concert, hailing the "eternal klansman," (the Washington Monument lit up in the night sky), and the swooping Park Police helicopters that menaced the crowd of Punks and Hippies, who had already been brilliantly jazzed by the Crucifucks, MDC, and others.

But he has little valence these days, and apparently even less knowledge.

He should put on his "Eric Boucher" nametag and get a fucking job at Krispy Kreme, whoring it up for 'puke-money.

8. i don't think he looks like Lurch, but why is that an issue ?
and what does he mean by "nothing to say" ? is there something he wants him to say that he isn't saying, does he have a problem with the things kerry is saying so far ?

9. I always thought Kerry looked like andrew jackson and abe lincoln
hybrid. I personally as a former Kucinich supporter find it ironic after all the times Kucinich got his personal appearance made fun of that a Kucinich supporter like Bifara would go after Kerry's, they both are decent looking guys I think. I remember how I hated when people would go after his looks, who cares what Kerry looks like, I care what Kerry is about and frankly I love what he is about, read the Ireland plan today, that alone is reason to be ethusiatic for Kerry.

10. Do your research, Mr. Biafra
If you're too lazy to look at Kerry with an objective eye, then your comments are about as valuable as the latest RNC attack ad.

11. Jello can occasionally hit the nail right on the head
He was great when I saw him during WTO here in Seattle, and I love the Dead Kennedys. He's a disgruntled gadfly, and such types often have a spot in my heart.

But for him to talk about Kerry this way, AND deny that Nader took votes from Gore at this point shows that he's a complete idiot.

12. he's just another Boulder "leftist" loudmouth
trying to turn his shtik into a career. I wonder if he's still living with his Mom and Dad, like the last time I talked to him.
