I just heard it on the radio. Maybe he sees that this story could really drag him down in the soup.

3. Agreed...but maybe the new RNC talking points fax is steering away
Perhaps McCain is not going to endorse Chimpy unless he condemns the ad.

We'll see.

5. True
Hannity tells the most outrageous, provably wrong lies I've ever heard on the airwaves, with a straight face. Oh'Really and Limbaughcontin are jerks who distort the truth right and left (and often lie), but Hannity tops them all.

12. He is as bad. Because Hannity admits to being a conservative republican
O'Reilly is worse because he's more of a fraud, with his whole insistance on, and getting dopes to believe in, the claim that he's even-handed.

13. On this issue O'Reilly is just making a judgement call that this is
Edited on Mon Aug-09-04 01:38 PM by Bombtrack
indefensible, and it's one of the few things he can point to to show that he "goes after" the right. Even though he does it halfheartedly and once in a blue moon. And he doesn't implicate "the republican party" as he does the democrats. And he doesn't go one time in talking about it where he doesn't reassure everyone the "left" is just as bad if not worse because of the boogyman Soros and the submitted Hitler ad that some random person got on Moveon for a matter of hours.

one of my favorite lies is that he's a registed independent

then, Franken PUBLISHED his voter reg and it's marked rePUBLICAN

he said he musta checked the wrong box

sorta like the chimp, when he meant he WANTED to go to Vietnam, but hit the stay at home and act like a baby box

4. Did I hear that O'Reilly is having the Swiftboat vets on his show?
If he is truly defending Kerry on this, what kind of course do you think he will take?

7. Although he loaded his schtick with some possible lies....
Bill said he was in combat while covering the Falkland War (this might be a lie), he defended how those near Kerry fighting would have a much more believable story than those 50 yards away as well as that the Navy wasn't exactly giving out medals like candy. If those soldiers had a problem with Kerry then , they could have made it known...

9. O'Really is a blowhard
who occasionally defends as he calls it "the far left" just so he can point to the incident and claim he is an independent.

Since the WH is staying away from this one he figures it probably won't hurt bush for him to give Kerry a pass and he can point to it the next time he is accused of being a rethug mouthpiece.

I think all but the most partisan agree that siding with the Swift boat crappers for truth is not a good position to take.
