Why would they put Laura Bush out front on stem cell research?
Edited on Mon Aug-09-04 05:01 PM by Raven
Because they have no good argument on it and they don't want to call attention to that fact. Laura goes out when they have no supportable position. Like the new "terra" lady Townsend?...she has kids so she must speak and know the truth... she has mentioned that she has kids about 5 thousand times. Funny, having kids didn;'t make me any wiser about terrorism. Poor womnen in this administration...how sadly (and obviously) they are used!

Edited for spelling.

1. Laura says, "Just say no to stem cell research, Kids...
Just take a Valium, like a normal person!"

2. Her "daddy" had Alzheimer's or Parkinson's.
Thus she must be an expert on stem cell research because it could have helped her daddy, and if she's against it, she must be right, cause she's a god fearing Christian woman. Or maybe just a cold hearted bitch.

7. So they're going to lose because more women want to
be able to decide what's good for their bodies and anyone who isn't a fundy will see the merits of stem cell research.

6. When I jumped on my computer right now...roadrunner
had the headline and this ugly picture of pickles ...with the caption..laura bush bashes Kerry's stance on stem cell research.

Kerry's stance is for us to be able to use it.

And the bushes are dark ages.

13. It allows Bush to send messages without actually saying anything.
It's a way to let Bush's political base know just where their President stands on the issues they care about. It's a way of doing so without the political reprocussions that would be suffered if the President got involved at the same level - can you accuse the First Lady of official perjury or crude political positioning like you could the President?

14. Most Undecideds are Women
according to Karen Tumulty of Time . So they are trying to soften W's image on an issue of prime importance to a majority of caregivers . I think they also want to contrast her with Theresa . What strikes me as interesting is that pushing her out on issues and to take swipes at attorneys runs counter to the non controversial , wholesome image they have cultivated for her . I think it is one more indication of panic on the part of Rove & company .
