What a coincidence, huh? "President Bush: Moving America Forward." You could probably go to Bush-Cheney's website if you're just burning to see it, but most likely you can just turn on any channel and wait about 10 minutes.

1. You must live in swing state
What's great about living in IL, especially this election cycle, is that neither candidate has spent one red cent advertising in our market.

If I want to see a Kerry or Dem ad, I watch it on the internet, but not having countless ads bombarded at you from both sides is great.

5. Hardly, but sometimes we're a test market
Columbia used to be a test market for horror movies, so we'd be a good place to try out Bush commercials, don't you think?:)

3. Not very catchy
To me, it just fades into the background and I barely even know it's on. (Which is a good thing.) It's going to be a total waste of money.

7. Well, when I say it's just like an oil company ad, I mean
it's just like a pr puff ad for a company or industry that's fucked up royally, eg DuPont after Bhopal, Exxon after Prince William Sound, etc. So a) the fact that even Bush-Cheney know that they need such an ad is kind of a good sign, but b) it might work. DuPont and Exxon are still in business, after all.

It also indicates that B-C are probably going to go with a softer approach in the official ads while they let their lap dogs such as the Not Very Swift Boat Veterans do the swinish stuff, but I don't guess that's a news flash either.

4. The good thing about Bush's commercials
is that he says "I'm George Bush and..." right at the beginning, so I always hit mute. As a matter of fact, I always hit mute when I hear his voice.

8. They sound like the old BP ads.
You know, the ones before they started interviewing people in the ads.

9. BP: Trying to make you forget that the B stands for British:
Bush: Trying to make you forget he's owned by the Saudis.

Like I said, what a coincidence.

10. If it wasn't for the Chimp line at the beginning, I thought it was a...
