Keyes: Obama's views on abortion are 'the slaveholder's position"
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A52846-2004Aug9.html

Keyes, a conservative commentator, wasted little time Monday in attacking Obama, charging that his views on abortion are "the slaveholder's position."

Keyes said Obama's vote against a bill that would have outlawed a form of late-term abortion denied unborn children of their equal rights. "I would still be picking cotton if the country's moral principles had not been shaped by the Declaration of Independence," Keyes said, according to the Associated Press. He said Obama "has broken and rejected those principles -- he has taken the slaveholder's position."

1. That makes absolutely NO FUCKING SENSE.
Surely the voters won't allow him to play them like this. :puke:

3. Huh?
What the hell is he talking about? First statement out of the gate, and it's a howler. I can't wait to see these two debate. Obama will mop the floor with him. I just hope that C-SPAN shows them, since I don't live in Illinois.

5. one day in and signs of desperation already?
direct negative attacks of this nature generally indicate to me that someone is trying to get some serious attention (there's no such thing as bad publicity), or someone's ego is seriously bruised by coming out of the gate being behind. (i think i read in one thread that keyes is behind 40 points). someone who's backed into a corner is going to come out attacking like this.

it never ceases to amaze me how low someone will go, especially on the right. people always look at me funny when i equate the right to a religion. keyes is just the newest member of their evangelical faction.

7. HAHAHA!!! And Obama is the extremist?
I went back and read some of his old columns on worldnetdaily. What a piece of work that guy is!!! What he's spouting off is the same thing over and over and over (abortion, morality, abortion, morality, God, morality, abortion, God, *rewind*) He really likes to put the race issue out there in your face then claim he hasn't too.

As for Obama, he's going to mop the floor with this guy's own sweat. Illinois is going to take out the trash and Keyes will be rolling back to Maryland in a garbage truck!

8. Hmmmm, the last time I checked,
Keyes was a member of the current "slaveholder's" political party.
