ACT reconsiders Louisiana as a "target state" -Help
Edited on Tue Aug-10-04 03:16 PM by funkybutt
America Coming Together is a well funded 527 that does lots of canvassing and voter registration in order to derail the republican agenda. Check out their web page http://actforvictory.org. The closest ACT event is in Pensacola, Fla., 220 miles away from New
Orleans.

I have been told that they are currently reconsidering whether or not to make Louisana a target state. I believe Louisiana is a winable state but we could really use their help. Feel free to contact them to let them know that Louisiana WANTS and NEEDS ACT. We in Louisiana are in need of an organized STATE WIDE effort to register and educate voters in order to promote progressive candidacies and roll back the radical conservative onslaught. Our local networks are here and available to help with this effort. We are more organized than ever but could definitely use the help from ACT to better represent the citizens of Louisiana.

1. Go for it!
I think that with a relatively small expenditure of money for advertising and a campaign stop or two, Kerry could put Louisiana in play, and force Stupidhead's campaign to spend a disproportionate amount of time and money shoring up what they heretofore regarded as a "safe" state.

Put a little pressure on these bandits, by all means.

3. Use the picture

Just start showing this picture around.

Straight from the Republican Convention, the artistic centerpiece.

Take you pick of what makes you more irate:
1-Portrayal of our soldiers as monkeys
2-Some hidden racial slur about african americans in the military
3-The fact that hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil (not necessarily in that order) means complacence in the face of evil being committed.

4. Louisiana should be contested
Nothing pissed me off more about the Gore campaign than its decision to blow off states that he ended up losing by just a few percentage points.

I'd hate to see that happen again.

Louisiana has a Democratic governor and two Democratic senators. It is winnable for Kerry if we can turn out the vote in New Orleans.
