Edited on Tue Aug-10-04 06:22 PM by Padraig18
If I see one more pissy, whiny rant about how Kerry 'blew' this or 'dropped the ball' that, I'm gonna :puke: ! I have news for some of you holier-than-thou folks out there--- John Kerry is human, and humans are apt to be less than perfect 100% of the time. That said, let me ask you this rather pointed, hypothetical question:

On January 21st, 2005, Kim Jong Il decides to go for broke and invades South Korea. Who would you rather have sitting in the Oval Office making a decision about how to respond--- John Kerry, or George Bush?

Suck it up, folks, because that the is bottom line here...

3. Impossible at this point and on this planet for any of those to be choices
Get pragmatic and the world will make more sense. A lot more.

Give it up--- none of those people are the nominee. Living in the past is worse than pointless, it's self-defeating.

12. Why do we have to 'police the planet'?
Because of little things called treaties, that's why; they happen to be US laws, as well.

Next question?

:wtf:

18. Why don't you answer the original question?
Seems like question evasion has become an argument around her lately. Sounds eerily familiar to what I hear from the right.

28. For the last time, Dean = louder version of Kerry
I love Dean because he has remained dedicated to the greater cause after his defeat. He has done the thankless job of going after Nader. But for the last time, Dean is very similar to Kerry on every key issue. Like Kerry, he wants to remain in Iraq. Like Kerry, he support NAFTA and WTO. Like Kerry, he's for civil unions, against gay marriage personally but leave it to the states.

2. Hey
I agree. Really. We've got to be team players, and I haven't criticized Kerry's response to the Iraq question. However, I do wish that he would be MUCH more aggressive, and go after *'s dismal jobs record and this swiftboat crap. He has a right to do so, and he should. To me, that's just common sense and not disloyal or "pissy."

5. I have no problem with reasonable, constructive criticism.
It's the "Waaaa, waaaa, I'm gonna take my ball and go home because Kerry's just like Bush*/gave a bad answer/isn't perfect" crap that's posted here that's getting under my skin--- BADLY.

21. Exactly.
Kerry is not just like Bush.
And if you stay home during the election, who are you going to hurt?
Who is going to notice?
Except for Bush, who is going to be smirking all the way to the bank.

10. Kerry is going after Bush's jobs record
Here in Wisconsin the only Kerry TV ad playing (in the Green Bay market) is a hard hitting commercial about jobs going overseas. "We should export products, not jobs!"

As far as this thread goes, we have to realize that no politician is going to represent our views 100%. The next president is going to be Bush or Kerry, period. There are no other options. Who do you prefer. That is the only question.

15. I'm glad to hear
that. Here in California, where we're considered "in the bag" for Kerry, we don't see many ads for either candidate. I haven't seen the one you mentioned. It sounds good. But I also just think that Kerry himself should be more vocal on a daily basis, and he really needs to nip this swiftboat crap in the bud. Some well justified outrage on his part would be welcome, and who could fault him? To me, it's a win-win.

Two Supremes are going to retire soon. Who do you want to choose their replacements? Bush (never met a church melding with state issue he couldn't love) or Kerry? And don't anyone say Dean or Kucinich or whomever, cause they are not running.

19. what's interesting is
that those who are so reactionary to everything the opposition does and demand we respond right away are the ones who say we can't let them control the debate.

but that is exactly what is happening if we do everything according to what the right wing does. we already know they will attack kerry and lie, distort, spin etc.

but i will tell you this, i bet we picked up a lot more votes with Kerry surprising those who come out to see his train pass by and were holding up signs in support of him even though they had no schedule or plan to do so than he would have by spending that time on cable news channels responding to every single attack the right wing throws out.

the same with Edwards GOING BACK to meet with a crowd that came out to see them. there was no schedule then either to make that stop, but when they heard how many people had come out just to see them they were so impressed that Edwards and his wife decided to go back to that town . i bet that did a lot more to pick up support in terms of votes and volunteer work than would have if edwards had gone on some cable news channel where they would just distort what he said or did.

Hey btw Paddy, Kerry seems to have a well thought out position on Ireland. I didnt know that he was one of the first to sign Ted Kennedy's letter requesting Gerry Adams get a visa. I actually think Kerry will make a fine president.

34. it is you people who are the perfectionists
You expect us to PERFECTLY love Kerry. I am voting for him but I do not like him very much. We disagree on some major issues, including war and tax policy.

The problem is Kerry supporters who shout down anybody who utters any minor criticism of him.

35. Its all BS...
I think Kerry should of just dropped it personally, but the thing is...does it matter? I mean...does it change MY mind? or any of ours? NO!!!

The thing I want to see now...is COMEBACK..we have so much ammo..why aren't we using it against these FOOLS???? As Clinton said, when they attack or challenge it opens up the talks to a DEBATE

I don't think this will stick..sure the media will plaster it EVERYWHERE..like they are doing with the swiftboat asses..but really their story is falling apart and they will have their 15 minutes--and fall off the face of the earth..and GWB looks worse now than he did BEFORE that ad came out..so I am not discouraged...its all going to be good come November 3rd...

37. You speak as if all Kerry objectors are misguided idealists.
They'll only refuse to vote for him because he isn't their total dream candidate.

But you know that some of the are black-hearted Republican disrupters who make their mothers weep that they brought such evil into the world.

I'll be glad to vote for Kerry. I look forward to criticizing him for the next 8 years.
