Out here in South Dakota,
where we will vote on June 3, we started getting robo calls yesterday.

I won't even name the candidate on whose behalf they were made.

I will say that everyone I have talked to about it just finds the calls annoying--far from persuading anyone they are just pissing people off. As a co-worker stated. There you are refereeing amongst three kids, and trying to fix supper, or pick up or whatever--anyway you're busy.

And the phone rings and so you drop everything and go pick it up and its some taped message.

That's not persuading anyone. If anything it's counterproductive when you drop every thing to get a recorded message that can't possibly listen in return.

In my experience, if people want anything from politicians, it is not to hear, but to be heard.

8. Wow, this is getting scary. First of all, you don't know the call was fom Hillary. Second, how in
the world does making robocalls constitute "having no shame?"

This is the McGovern era all over again. The arrogance is astounding.

27. Huh? I'm sorry...I really don't know what you're going for with this one. Did I just get called
a racist? Again? I'm not sure anymore, the insults become less and less comprehensible as victory grows nearer and nearer.

However, I dont expect you to understand what Im saying.

Anyone that thinks Hillary has even the slightest chance of winning clearly lacks basic reasoning skills.

25. Well, of course it wasn't from Hillary herself, you nit! It was from one of her minions.
The Goddess of Peace doesn't make robo calls!
Her voice can not be captured on tape by audio devices or else we would be able to speak with dolphins and solve the mysteries of the universe!!

6. Weird
Here in Oregon, I got 3 calls, all from live people. All from the Obama Campaign. I got 6 or 7 mailers, all from Obama. I really didn't feel the Hillary Love out here, Not a single call or mailer, not even a Robo Call.

19. I got 3 from Hillary
I live in her demographic area. I got a robo, a call to attend a Bill Clinton event, and a supporter call. After I turned the tables on the supporter, I stopped getting calls.

I didn't get any mailers, and only 1 call from Obama to make sure my ballot had been returned. I was actually a little worried before Sunday.

24. That makes sense
Some of my neighbors are not white. The area could explain why I didn't get called or mailed. I really do wish that the Obama campaign had not sent us 2 of everything, though. What a waste of paper.

13. I got a robocall in NY from Hillary on February 4th
Right before, I turned off the tv when she was on and said "Oh god, just shut up!" 5 seconds later, the phone rang and "This is Hillary Clinton" came through the line, and I slammed down the phone. It was just at a point when I was really sick of the election coverage in general.

15. Exactly!
Do you guys hear this????

Robo calls tend to piss off recipients! I hang up within seconds after I realize what I just received---these robo calls come from others...not just Hillary and the Democratic party! But they just piss me off and I hang up as soon as I realize that I'm on the receiving end of one of these calls.

30. Hey now, I grew up in a town of almost 700 where my Uncle owned the Sale Barn.
You know, The Sale Barn: Where they auction off the livestock. I remember those days fondly. :-)

I hope Obama visits our "Corn Palace" in good old Mitchell, South Dakota.

Mitchell, SD, home of the world-famous, one and only Corn Palace. Why do they have a Corn Palace here, anyway? Because they can. The goal was to put Mitchell on the map, and apparently it worked. 500,000 visitors a year drive out to see this thing in person. And yes - it really is a huge building covered in corn, grasses, and grains. They even dare to refer to it as "A-Maize-Ing!" (groan.)

GO OBAMA! :patriot:

'live' call from the Hillary camp the day of the primary. Hillary, Bill and Chelsea all called me. Did absolutely NOTHING to change my mind, either.
